I'm putting together a playlist of the jams the band plays before or after songs.  Who knows what songs and shows had cool jams similar to these:

Evelyn  Port Chester 2012
Mahgeetah  Port Chester 2012
Outta My System  Port Chester 2012
Steam Engine  Port Chester 2012
Steam Engine  OBH 2017
Only Memories Remain  OBH 2015

What am I missing?  I'm pretty sure Steam Engine OBH 2015 should be a decent one.  Off to check.
Cuz it's been so long since someone shattered me.

A jam disc or compilation would be nothing without the band's two biggest jams next to Steam Engine:
-PHONE WENT WEST'S Celestial Jam

-DONDANTE (pick your jam or version....you have Bonnaroo 2006 where it's Trouble Wake mashed with Dondante or all the beautiful metal jams of 2015-2017, or the Floydian synthesis of 2008-2011 'dante or the middle distance during 2012)....

-TOUCH ME II right when it hits the chugga chugga chugga chugga duhduhduhduhhhh part, the band are swirling in a jammy chrysalis...usually infused with an 80s stompquest.

-middle to end of RUN THRU counts??

(MMJ): 8/2/12+8/1/13+10/07/15+12/29/17+12/30/17+12/31/17+8/21/2022::::(JIM): 11/5/2018

Those recent WORDLESS jams were pretty cool too!

Those two kick-off shows of the 2015 Waterfall tour in 2015 had some really unique jams:

5/15/2015 at Georgia Theater - I Will Sing You Songs went death metal at the end.

5/16/2015 at Tennessee Theatre - Steam Engine has an extended very dark metal jam as well

Both unlike anything they've ever done on those tunes.

Also, on 6/20/2012 You Wanna Freak Out reached its full potential with a power jam at the end.

I think Steam Engine from Red Rocks 2019 is another pretty obvious candidate.

Cool, the specific shows really help.  I'll see if I can track those down.

So many good ones.

PWW from Red Rocks 2019 in addition to the Steam should count.

One of my favorite jams is from Red Rocks 2016 - Picture of You.

I've said this on these forums so many times but screw it, Capitol Theatre 2019. The whole show is full of gems.

One of my all time favourite jacket moments is the Old Sept Blues from that show. It's absolutely solid the whole way through, as almost everything that night seemed to be! But OSB especially. The end jam is just perfect.

I really hope that one of the next volumes of the live album series is this show! (Even if not - that taping is near perfect anyway!)
it wouldn't be a party without you

Right there with ya on this show, the jams and I'm hoping it turns up in the live album series as well. It would be a great choice and really cool to have an album show on vinyl. Throw in it was a 20 year anniversary celebration and it was one amazing night for a Jacket fan. Really special evening.

While there are a few jams from this show that would fit this thread, I'm gonna nominate the Twilight one. It's definitely worthy to be included.
"Where's Jim going?"

Lucius

Yeah that Twilight is definitely one for the ages  but OSB got my vote because I've never heard the band jam with such tight precision before. It just sounds so tight/ethereal!

I've never heard the song end like that before, but I could be wrong. There are much more experienced people than me here! Does anyone know? Is there a superior OSB jam?

Oh yeah no question that OSB jam was sooo good. I don't know if they've ever jammed it out like that before but it was definitely the only time I can remember seeing it done like that. Thanks for posting it as it was great to hear it again.

It's #1 on my live wishlist! Still haven't seen it. I'll even take a short version! Those harmonized "ahhh ahhh ahh ahhs" are peak Jacket.

I also nominate Twilight from that PC 2019 show as I remember that one being awesome.  I went back and listened to OSB, and thanks for that reminder.  What a version!  I nominate that for a great and atypical jam.  That whole show was amazing.

Lots of good mentions in here! That 2016 RR Picture of you was a favorite of mine.  I'll also second the IWSYS from the Georgia Theater in 2015.

RobRoy286

Great call on Picture of You from RR16. Absolutely incredible.

Lonndown27

The extended Mahgeetah Oakland 2011 is such a favorite

Lonndown27

Carried Away 12/29/12 & 12/29/17
both versions are incredible and soaring, but I prefer 2017 because I was there.

Dondante from Waterfront Park 2008, the version that was used for the Celebracion EP, is so Floydian and beautiful.

They Ran from 2015 has some of my favorite jams...I get lost in an opiate trance to that.

The Steam/Blowin in the Wind/Melissa/All Things Must Pass/ Beautiful Ones medley from 🍑 Fest 2017 IS STILL BONE CHILLING.

Wordless Chorus from Red Butte 2022, what an unreal jam. Being there amongst the crowd was absolutely orgasmic.

Dondante from Bonnaroo 2006 oh my God....love how the Trouble Sleep chords become the new first half chords of Dondante...sexy interpolation.

Also, the seamless, ridiculously amazing LOVIN CUP / EASY MORNING REBEL (end jam) combo during Roo 2006 too....an ultimate MMJ moment for me. If I'm there for that next airing of Loving Cup, I'll have sex with Lord Voldemort

Cool, I'll add it.  I noticed that I have the show, and the track before Dondante is titled 'Pre-Dondante'.
Cuz it's been so long since someone shattered me.

Is this pre-Dondante the same or similar as the pre-Dondante from MSG 2011? Because that is also one of my favourite 'jam' moments. Carl on sax at the end also might be the best Carl on sax I've heard (so far)

No it is not at all like the MSG show. It's literally a 5 minute jam before Dondante even starts. And yes Carls sax is awesome in the MSG show, so is Jim's haunting yell.

Your shows are coming up, hope you have a great time!
