So, how did it sound (I haven't figured bit torrent out just yet)?
It' my favorite Prince song, together with Sometimes It Snows In April, but did they do the funny handclaps? The backing vocals? The eighties-synths? The eighties-guitar solo?
This stuff is killing me...
Remember when we all suggested a bunch of covers? They always come up with an unexpected choice!

I'm not familiar with the original - but MMJ's version is definitely not 80s!  Very rocking, pretty prominent keyboard, great guitar solo.  Vox are awesome - and Prince is a tough act to follow. Damn good cover.

On the cover songs thread I pleaded for 'Nothing compares 2 U' - no dice, but at least it's a prince song.

Cool you suggested a Prince song, I hadn't seen that.
Hope a European tour is somewhere on their minds... all this news of new shows is tougher than i thought.

I think the cover is awesome. They rock it out more than Prince did. I fucking love the Prince original, btw.
They add a little extended jam after the solo with a nice little groove.
The guitar solo is damn near exactly the way that Prince played.  :)

So what's the Prince song? I didn't see the title in this thread anywhere...thanks.

Very good tune, one of my favorite Prince songs. Great guitar lead. I saw Afghan Whigs play this once, along with Beast of Burden by the Stones.
