QuoteIt wasn't that this person used to be Jim's neighbor, it's that she used to be his neighbor and needed to tell us that she respects his privacy more than most... most who?  Oh bother...  whatevs.

The point was that since she did once live next to Jim (and I would dare to say most of the people on this forum have not lived next door to Jim), she understands the temptation more than most to invade his privacy (i.e., it would make more sense for her to drop by next door for a cup of sugar to meet Jim and invade his privacy, whereas me finding out where Jim lives and driving a couple of hours to borrow a cup of sugar simply to meet him is probably a little less tempting), therefore, her use of restraint to walk next door is probably more practiced than my restraint of driving for hours...

So, hopefully that clears that up entirely and we can all go on with our lives in a happy and frutiful manner.

Hello Kim H. Welcome to the board...don't ever shake that sisterly love!  ;)

It's cool. I just find that when people are like "i was Jim's neighbor" or "I knew Jim back whenever" it says more about that person... Or something like that. It's just the "I was his neighbor and I respect his privacy more" all the while announcing said facts got my back up for some reason.

What reason, I do not know.  I'm a moron.

I think it's weird that people who actually might be close to the band get made to feel like their not welcome here because of people like you.

But no, if I used to be Jim's neighbor, I wouldn't be on here telling everyone.
I thought that post was weird when I read it, too. I thought at first that I was just jealous that she was their neighbor, and then I thought, no, that post was just weird.

b) I don't think anyone close to the band is on here.  And that's my point, actually.

well, you're wrong.

But out of respect of the band's privacy, people who are close to the band don't talk about being close to the band.

It's sort of bittersweet to me when I remember why I was ignoring someone here in the first place...

This thread has taken all sorts of strange turns. . .

How about we start over?

We all really, really hope Jim's ok. Any updates that could be passed our way would be greatly appreciated, but we certainly respect everyone's privacy.

If you just update us, I promise I will stop climbing trees and looking through windows.

like the note said, he needs a little more time to fully recover but he should be back in full fantastic force when it's time for the chicago shows.

I second that...well not the climbing trees part.   ;D

But seriously, thanks for reminding everyone of the REAL issue!

To is a preposition

Come is a verb

I mean, I guess this is what happens when you are so intense on stage. But it worries me that there is so little information on what is wrong with JJ. And to cancel that many shows...
Yikes.

I'm still so sad.

None of the cancellations personally affect me, but the world just ain't right without MMJ rockin' it.

We have heard that he had "massive trauma to his torso".  My guess as to why we have not heard more is for one of three reasons:

1.  It was noted that he did the splits, it's possible that he injured a very private area that people don't like to discuss.

or

2.  The actual diagnosis might not sound as bad as it really is.  For example, severe bone bruises take months to heal and hurt like hell. But, if you've never had one, you might think "He cancelled the tour for bruises, that's bogus!"  They don't want fans to think they didn't do everything to make the shows work out.

or

3.  It's none of our damn business.

ali

hope you get well soon jim, like someone else on here said... sometimes you just rock too hard!!!

for eveyone who had a ticket to one of the cancelled shows - we all feel for you (i've been in there), but we all want a healthy jim!
love a song for the way it makes you feel
