what a day, what a speech! i had class with a black man in his late 40's tonight and to see his face and emotion when it became clear B.O. was gonna win was priceless, i've never been more proud to be an american!
i kinda think right now is a pretty good time to just sit down and sing people some mother-fuckin songs

I wonder how long it will be until Palin states campaigning for 2012.

I just puked when you mentioned the words "Palin" and "2012". Those two words don't go too well.

Wow, it is. I never really felt pride in my country until a few hours ago, but I sure as hell do now. After that speech, how could anyone not love this guy? I say we abolish term limts and let Obama keep the job for as long as he can. I feel so good about having him as the face and voice of our country and, while I want to be cynical about all the promises he's making, he makes that so hard to do. I think I'm just going to sit back and enjoy this feeling a while longer. Hope is awesome.  8-)

It certainly goes down as one of the most momentous days in your history. It's fantastic. I visited Memphis a couple of years ago and was really moved to visit the motel where MLK was assasinated. I'd say his spirit came alive in this election.

The questions I ask myself this morning though are:

How much of this massive change of mood in the country was down to the economic crisis? And how much was down to Obama's vision and values? In short, without the economic crash, how close would the race have been? Why did it take the American people SO FUCKING LONG to realise they had chosen the wrong path with good ol' Georgie!

And spare a thought for us Brits. As your country thankfully shifts back towards the centre and a new dawn, we are about to go the other way and elect David "Eton Boy" Cameron!!

To go along with the other MLK tributes because they are definitely relevant today.  This is one of my favorite MLK tributes.  Happy times.  :)

I just watched Obama's speech in full for the first time. Truly inspiring.
