I thought I was missing something when OU was favored by 7  :o

They shouldve been favored by 1.5 tops for a game like that in Dallas

Im thinking Florida is favored by a little too much too, but well see

I hate waiting til 7pm for my game!!!

Although, it does allow me to get shitty while watching the game  :D

GGG, after the Notre Dame game, how about this for a scary halloween costume:

I think if LSU beats Florida at the Swamp, they're good for #1.
--- and that's 2 real 4 u.

corey

Not sure if that's gonna happen or not. FLA seems to be in control of this game so far. There's still 2 minutes left in the first quarter, but they're making LSU look BAD. Real bad.

(I know there's still a LOT of time left, but they're really commanding this game)

Angry Ewok

#1 Oklahoma
#2 Alabama
#3 LSU
#4 Missouri

#5 Texas
#6 Penn State
#7 Texas Tech
#8 USC
#9 BYU
#10 Georgia
#11 Florida

Does this mean Alabama will be ranked #1? Or was #5 Texas impressive enough after beating #1 OU to make the jump?
--- and that's 2 real 4 u.

capt. scotty

Texas v Bama is a toss up IMO..either way, no doubt 1 team will separate themselves by the time December rolls around

I think my Nittany Lions gonna be #3 though  :D :) :( :D :) :P

I'm having flashbacks just looking at that horrific costume.

Yeah, I'm glad they pulled out the W, but, man...I haven't seen reffing like that in a while (possibly not since the Duke game a couple of years ago when they 'fixed' the clock and Clemson lost).

I like our chances of cracking the top 20 this week though :)

I know the Sooners lost to now #1, but #4?!? Gimme a break

Them, and USC should not be ahead of Tech or Ok State at this point

Florida's only argument for being ahead of them is how bad they spanked LSU, which I can live with

But just like I said a few weeks ago as to why Mizzou and LSU shouldve stayed ahead of Bama bc it would work itself out (hmm, you dont say???), Ill say the same thing about Tech and OK St right now.

Although, I guess it doesnt matter where these biased voters rank them because I assume Tech and OK St would be ahead of them in the BCS, if not now, then after they play the other top Big 12 and win

I think the most underrated team going right now might be Utah though

Did you just say you think Oklahoma State and Texas Tech deserve to be ranked over Alabama? Or did I misread that? I'm looking at the schedules, and I think it's pretty obvious who has had the tougher schedule.

WEEK ONE
Tech vs. Eastern Washington
BAMA @ #9 Clemson
OSU @ Washington State

WEEK TWO
Tech @ Nevada
BAMA vs. Tulane
OSU vs. Houston

WEEK THREE
Tech vs. Southern Methodist
BAMA vs. Western Kentucky
OSU vs. Missouri State

WEEK FOUR
Tech vs. Massachesetts
BAMA @ Arkansas
OSU vs. Troy

WEEK FIVE
Tech @ Kansas State
BAMA @ #3 Georgia
OSU vs. Texas A&M

WEEK SIX/SEVEN
Tech vs. Nebraska
BAMA vs. Kentucky
OSU @ #3 Missouri

--- and that's 2 real 4 u.

Meh. The only ranked opponent on their schedule is Brigham Young. The only ranked opponent on Brigham Young's schedule is Utah. Don't forget Ball State and their perfect record heading into the MAC Conference.

Whoa, that was a drunken ramble.

As happy as I am about it, I think OSU and Tech are ranked too high, for the same reason Ewok says, weak schedules. But at least OSU should be ahead of Tech at this point - beating Mizzou in Columbia trumps going to overtime against Nebraska at home. The preseason ranking continues to hang around, but it'll work itself out down the road - which I believe was what headdy was trying to say. Nobody could seriously think they could be ranked ahead of Alabama, in fact, I'd put Bama at #1 myself.

No, Bama is where they should be now

I was saying after they upset Georgia though they shouldnt have leapfrogged Mizzou and LSU bc if those teams deserved to be ranked ahead of Bama, theyd prove it by winning. Well, they didnt win, and now Bama is in the same place theyd be whether they were #2 a few weeks ago or not.

My point was Oklahoma and USC, and to a lesser degree Florida, shouldnt be ahead of Tech and Ok State at this point because those teams have tough games ahead. If they win those games, they maintain their position ahead of OU, USC, and UF, but if they lose those teams move ahead of them regardless

If you think about it, I make a lot of sense. Theres a bunch of ppl saying Tech is overrated, and maybe they are, but it wouldnt have hurt anyone to make them #4 this week and then drop them down if/when they lose to Texas, Ok St, etc.

BH

Uhhhggg.   I havn't been this depressed about a sporting event in a long time.   Our defense actually stepped up and the offense had an off night.  (Which I give total credit to OSU for.  They put more pressure on Daniel than he's seen all year and it got to him by the end of the game.) I am happy for you though Crispy.  Our teams have not had a lot of success in the past and I know how exciting it can be to have it "turn around".   So cheers, I hope you win out and we get a chance to play again. [smiley=beer.gif]

And EAZYE, I know you are feeling a bit like me right now, so cheers to you as well.   [smiley=beer.gif]  We will do our best to knock Texas back down next week for you but it's going to be an uphill battle for us from here on out.
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

Crispy

Cheers, BH, that was a helluva game. I've been on the losing end plenty of times at OSU, including a 3-overtime gut-puncher to Mizzou in 2001 and another MU overtime loss 4 years before that, so I know your pain. I never feel good about the defense, but they really stepped up in this one and made big plays when they needed them. If we meet up again in the Big 12 champ game, I will be completely freaked out - not very likely the way Texas is playing, and we have to go to Lubbock too.
