Right now in Toronto, it's a balmy -16C (5F), not including the wind-chill (which is -22C). Thursday morning it'll drop down to -20C (-4F); wind-chill will be -30C.

- 10 F right now,  expected high is - 1 F

No school today for my daughter because of the cold.

My left eye froze shut when I stepped outside this morning.

Not a good idea to lick the pole today ( or any day for that matter  ;) ).

As I write, there's a rather large power-outage in Toronto at the height of the coldest stretch of weather this city's felt in 4 years. Since last night, 50,000 residents are without power and the temperature has hovered around -19C (-2F) with wind-chills reaching -30C (-20F). Not only that, but the subway in that part of town isn't running.

That could be catastrophic,  I hope they get that power going soon.

My daughter has another snow day because of the cold, and she is off monday because of MLK Jr. Day.

The news is saying that the power might resume later on today, like around supper time. That means the outage will last close to 24 hours... in January... in Canada.

i'm feeling like a jerk here in los angeles with our 85 degree day.  a bit disorienting, but gorgeous.

wish i could send you all some warmth.   [smiley=bath.gif]

haha, totally!  coffee and tea tastes great during canadian winters.  by the way, we've had one day below -50, it was horrendous, and there's likely a few more to come before spring shows its face.

Sorry about your weather.  That would depress the hell out of me.

In my part of Canada, when I hear about the frigid weather where K is from, I can only just shake my head. Nothing beats the cold (not including the Northwest Territories, Nunavut and the Yukon) of the Canadian Prairie provinces (Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta).

It's relatively warm in Toronto today by comparison: -16C (3F).
