I'm disappointed that the touring is going to slow down, but it's perfectly understandable that Jim wouldn't want to do another massive thing right away. But I'm really excited that he's going to spend the next year writing MMJ songs and working with the Monsters of Folk. Two albums in 2010?

I'm glad it's going to be a "songwriting" year.  I like seeing them live as much as anybody but I don't want to wait another two years for new material again.

Jim is a wise man. I'd rather see MMJ slow down in their touring instead of burning out too soon. Hooray for a song-writing year! I would love to see Monsters of Folk on tour, too.

The Robbie Robertson circa The Last Waltz comparison scared me a little...lol.

Thanks for posting that. Saw myself a few times in that video and slideshow from Louisville.

It scared me too...especially after not being able to make a single show this tour. But, these days, with how the industry is working, the touring would not be able to end.  The only part of the business that still offers sure money is touring...maybe merch sales at a lesser degree (shirts, posters, etc).
They've been going nonstop for a yr.
I'm sure, if anything, the number of dates can be slimmed down a bit...play larger venues, less dates.
...talk is often cheap and filled with air.
