How could I forget Boo Boo?  He is my sister's dog, and I think he is trying to figure out if Otis is distracted enough to steal Otis' bone...

Here he is in all his glory (little man was a stray and had to have his front teeth pulled out due to decay.  therefore, he is found sticking out his tongue on a regular basis.  the best part is that he has a wart on his tongue.  very dignified, to say the least)

And here is another good one of Otis in action. This is him getting his WWF on with Beiju, his #1 buddy (a Visla)

sincerely, my morning wood.

That is awesome!  Looks like your buddy is having a good ole' time.  My dogs (especially Otis) are highly suspicious of the hose....

Reviving the ole' our pets thread (they are my babies after all).  For those of you not on FB, here are my babes enjoying Frog Lake in Mt. Hood National Forest last Friday:

Old man Junebug (the black dog) swam all day long.  Otis (the redbone) swam a lot, especially after the ducks.  Yes, within the first 10 minutes of arriving I dove in to convince him that he doesn't need to swim all the way across the lake to get the duckies.  I love my pups!

Ruckus

To complete the circle of life, much love to BH's Rhodesian.

I'm picking up a Frenchton (half Frenchie, half Boston) puppy on Sunday!

Will post :)

The Porties are five...and littermates...though we got them several years apart.  The Bichon is 12 and, well, spoiled doesn't cover it.

Does anyone have tips on making two dogs get along?
My sister's dog and my dad's dog have to live together and neither are happy about it. We have to keep them on a leash everytime they see eachother or they'll rip eachother apart.
It's driving me insane!!!!!!! :-/

It depends on how aggressive they are.  Dogs are like 10 year old boys, sometimes you have to let them fight to establish dominance before everyone's cool with one another.  If you think they can establish dominance on their own without injuring each other, that would be they way to go.  One of them will beat the other up and the loser will buy the first round of beers.

Thinking back to my days as a pet advise for Purina...

You will need to introduce them slowly. Keep them in seperate areas and bring them around for small periods of time and only increase when they start getting along. Reward good behavior (treats work wonders) and if they start growling and yapping at each other do something to distract them. Dogs have the attention span of a nanosecond and unless you catch them in the act, have no clue what you are correcting them on. It's a slow slow process sometimes. They may not ever fully get along also. As D said, they are pack animals and there is usually an alpha and pretty much makes the others know.
