American Horror Story is a bit creepy.  Not sure how they're going to keep this going but have enjoyed it so far.  I also can't get enough of this kind of stuff during this time of year.  Love Halloween!  Also can't wait for the new season of The Walking Dead!

Im pretty sure its just going to be a one season miniseries type show. Maybe if it gets really good ratings theyll bring it back for another season, but with a new family and maybe even totally new story/house.

I thought the 2nd episode was even better. I hope they continue developing the characters already introduced (neighbors, maid, burn victim, psych patient) instead of introducing more. I like how theyre blurring the line with the neighbors making you not sure if theyre alive or ghosts (psych patient and the maid are pretty clearly ghosts I think). I have a feeling they will continue to make them appear alive but late in the season reveal theyre actually dead.

Just finished season 3 of Dexter! Whew, that took awhile.....I felt like this season kind of lagged, but finished better than it started.  Season 4 shall commence this week!

Season 4 is probably my second favorite season after season 1.

Good to know! Season 1 was insanely good!

Season 4 may be my favorite television series of all time. The Trinity Killer story arc is fantastic!
Well, well, well..........just finished season 4, and let me just say.....HOLY CRAP! The Trinity Killer was ahhhhhhhhmazing! John Lithgow is wicked scary, and Michael C. Hall is on top of his game!  Damn! Hated to see it end.

onward and upward...season 5!
.....Back at the Model Home

Awesome! Glad you liked it, Trish :) In complete agreement that Lithgow made an incredible serial killer. Definitely a worthy adversary for Dexter. Season 5 is not my favorite, but it has some bright spots. Let me know what you think when you're through it.

AMC is doing a miniseries for "Bag of Bones"! I really enjoyed the book so I'm interested to see what they can do with it. I'm a bit of a Stephen King freak. Most of his work doesn't apply well to movies or TV, but they got it right a few times. Shawshank, Green Mile, The Body (Stand By Me), Misery, Delores Claiborne to name a few

I watched Pet Sematary for the first time a few days ago. I wouldnt call it terrible, but it was definitely one of those so bad its good movies. Another guilty pleasure is Thinner. More often than not though, King adaptations seem to get terrible actors and production quality, so I think thats part of the reason why many come off as cheesy B movies or TV movies/miniseries.

...and you forgot about The Shining!

Big Dexter fan - agree that season 4 was fantastic, and season 5 was a bit of a letdown.  My sis-in-law-in-law has seen season 6, and says it's a big return to form, so that's good news.   So far, 3 episodes in I agree!!

ps.  Homeland, which follows Dexter Sunday nights, has been really enjoyable so far too!

The Shining is a masterpiece wether King likes it or not. A few of my other favorites - The Mist, The Dead Zone (1983), Carrie, I even like the much hated Dreamcatcher. Secret Window, and 1408 are pretty underrated.

I thought 5 was pretty good. Season 6 sounds very promising. Here's how I'd rate the seasons from favorite to least: 1, 4, 5, 2, 3.
Anyone who enjoyed Lithgow in season 4 should watch the movie Blow Out, I think it's Lithgow's first movie.
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

Ruckus

Yeah, Season 6 is off to a stellar start for sure
SPOILER ALERT*- I was disappointed that the tooth fairy only got one episode.  The idea had a chance to be a real nice mini side story.  Unfortunately they squeezed this grand idea into an overacted old fart just to show one possibility of Dexter's future.

The Shining is a tough one. While I absolutely loved Kubrick's take on it (not to mention Jack's stellar performance), it's just too different from the book for me to consider it "Kingish". Still a great film, though.

I thought The Mist was a pretty good movie. The short story is one of my favorites of his.

Can't believe I forgot Carrie! :o

Dexter does indeed show promise for season 6. Just the clips of the upcoming murder scene look crazy. Very much looking forward to what's in store.

I am loving this show. I watch it on Wednesdays, then I watch it later On Demand to catch the subtleties I missed. Jessica Lange's Constance is my favorite character thusfar. Bitch is fierce!

Anybody still watching It's Always Sunny? I got disinterested in the show last season but this season's been better. The Frank's Little Beauties and Frank's Brother episodes are my favorite so far, with inspired casting of Lance Reddick (of The Wire) as Reggie and John Polito as Frank's brother Gino.

I have them DVR'd but I think Im missing the Frank's Brother episode because I definitely didnt watch that one. Storm of the Century was decent. I think it has been better this year, but I think The League has surpassed it.

Also, what the fuck is the deal with DirecTV getting rid of FX on November 1st? Of course, pretty much my favorite channel theyre getting rid of. That cant lose Bravo or Lifetime or something instead?!  >:(

Not to mention theyre getting rid of it in the middle of Sunny, The League, and American Horror Story seasons

Yeah, it's a bummer but FX had the leverage to ask for more money I'm guessing.  They've become a monster and Directv probably didn't wanna pony up.  I hope they sort it out.  If we didn't have a contract with dtv, this would have been a dealbreaker for me as well.

Sunny has been OK but I thought last week's hurricane one was awful.  League has been solid but still not as good as 1 and 2.

Just finished season 3 of Breaking Bad.  Great stuff

I thought that the 'Jersey Shore' episode was genius as was the first episode. Franks Little Beauties' was disturbing but funny.

S.O.A has been enjoyable this season thus far....Can't wait for Justified Season 3, best show on tv imho, season 2 was a scorcher!!!

Now, that you mention it, I need to finish Season 2 of Justified and Lights Out. Better do it soon because DTV will probably take them off my DVR in a week  >:(

Im definitely out of contract right now, so if they dont figure out how to keep it or dont give me like $20 off per month for the next 12 months or free sunday ticket or something, I will definitely switch to Dish.

Beauty pageants for kids is disturbing, and that was their way of criticizing it in their own warped way. I can imagine that episode could potentially offend many people, and they'd be completely missing the point. The characters might be dumb but it's a smart show.  They took a touchy subject and still made it funny.
