The continuing rise in the number of knife attacks/fatalities in the UK  :'(
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

I feel like absolutly rolled up used TP right now. I haven't slept much in the last few days, I've eaten like shit, and I drank way too fucking much. On top of that, I'm catching something, I drove from 10 fucking hours today so my back and ass hurt, and I'm high as a kite on about 3 different cold medicines. Ahhhh family. I'm sure I left some carnage on the highways and byways of NE, IA and MO today. :'(

Good lord that's terrible  :'(

I have BBC World on a lot during the day & for a couple of days in a row it just seemed like one knife attack after another.

On a brighter note, Good to hear from you Susan!. I hope things are good in your neck of the woods & that you & your good man are both doing well  :)

Yeah, what the heck is going in Jolly 'ole England? I typically read BBC as their US news is less biased then many of the US news outlets and I skip through the England and World news there. Seems likes its turning more into America.  :-/ Or is this just typical media making it seem worse then it really is? We get that here sometimes.

I guess it could be worse, it could be gun violence.

Can't we all just get along....

The DBT's are playing in SK while I'm away.   :-/

Nothing like waking up at 3AM to the sound of tornado sirens, wind that sounds like a freight train, and 2 freaked out kids. I really wish I was able to go back to bed now. Hell I wish I was able to go back to bed at 3:30.

I'll just sit here at work for the next few hours, sipping my milky tea, staring off into space.  :(

Whoa.  So did a Tornado go through where you live or was it a false alarm sort of thing?  Is everyone ok?

Severe warnings but no funnel in my town, thankfully. Not sure about surrounding area yet. We probably got 2" at my house in less then an hours time. I had some branches down in the yard I noticed when I left for work. Hopefully that's all anyone else got.

In the words of the great Flavor Flav DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE.  Actual statistics show knife crime to be on the decrease overall but apparently on the increase amongst young teenagers.  It's media driven hype designed to stir up fear.  The right wing media is driving this.  Call me cynical but it's part of the plan to make sure the 'tough on crime' right wing erect aresholes the Conservative Party get elected.  Which they will as Labours a dead duck.  Labours lost control, Britains in chaos blah blah blah.

It's all about perception though isn't it rather than cold statistics?  I mean they go on and on about these crimes in London for example but there are far more knife relate injuries and deaths in Glasgow for example.  You don't hear about them though cos, funnily enough, it's Glasgow and they are a bit more used to it than those soft bastards daarn Saarth  ;)

However there is a negative influence that comes from America I feel.  But that's another topic entirely.

Appreciate the words. Sounds alot like some of the crap we get here. Is crime better/worse? Statistics can be misleading, especially when it comes to crime, at least according to the Statistics Professor I had when I was a Criminal Justice Major at one point. All depends on if people actually report crimes or what they report so there is not a real way of determining if it is better or worse. As you point it out, it's all perception.

Hell I live in St Louis and it typical gets called a crime ridden, violent city. I don't perceive it as that. I feel completly safe here.

I could see where a negative influence is, at least what's reported so it may not be the case since I do not live there I do not know. And yes, it's probably best not discussed here.

F'n InBev and their $46 Billion Byout offer of AB. Dammit. Seriously, more and more foreign companies keep buying up US companies. Why the hell does this keep happening. It's been a scary trend in Food, Package Goods, and Grocery Store companies. This one is going to be brutal. I stand strong for all the AB folks here in St Louis as I've lived through a take over like this and if FUCKING SUCKS.
