Well I had more xrays and probing and poking for my knee. The good news is the tear I had is still repaired a couple years ago is fine. However the cartilage is significantly worn down. No surgery needed, but it's just gonna bother me. Take pills and ice was all the told me that can be done. F'n welcome to middle age I guess.

i feel yer pain w/the knees--i've been taking that glucosamine-chrondroitin on and off for years (although you can just take the glucosamine) to build up cartilage (or soften the pain at least) you can buy this stuff at CVS or target or walmart, etc---it's the only way i've been able to keep running distance. it really helps, though :-)

From what I've seen on TV, most doctors are goofy and have inner monologues that I'm sure they would be willing to share with you.

I just cut my finger kinda bad and it's bleeding like a motherfucker and it's 4 in the morning and I'm not going to the ER to get stiches.

Well...it's not bleeding anymore, but it sure is nasty looking. It could probably use a couple stiches.

My mother lived with MS for 30 years or so before passing this year as a result of complications of the disease at a very young age.  MS is a strange disease that has profoundly different effects for different people and can be very difficult to diagnose.  Numbness in different parts of the body is a symptom that my mother had often.

That being said, don't mentally give yourself MS.  Numbness can be a sign a of a million less serious things.  I'm often numb around midnight and have no idea how I get that way.  Don't be a "I don't do doctors" person.  Many doctors suck, but many don't.  Shop around, find one you like, try a D.O. versus and M.D.  Almost anything can be handled these days.

right - i guess it's just that my parents are both doctors and they get all stressed and diagnose me with anything cos they're anxious and crazy.
anyway, i think i'll be find. it comes and goes. i think i may have just pinched a nerv.e

If this snow doesn't give it a rest soon I'm worried my flight to NY will be cancelled. :-/ :-/ :-/  If I don't get to the NYE show there's gonna be some SERIOUS complaining in the future.  I'm just warning y'all.

Also, I've been holed up so long that I'm perilously low on bourbon and haven't had any wine in almost a week.  Good lord!  A week I say!!! :o :o

Oh, and just for good measure while I'm here, my internet connection sucks ass today. >:(

It started snowing again this morning, went out ot my car at lunch and cleaned about 4 inches off.   Got an additional 2 inches on it already.  A normal commute is about  1/2 hour, tonite it could take up to an hour and a half.  I hope I can blast my little camry thru the burm at the end of my driveway that the snowplows created.  Thank god for my John Deere Snowblower.  It's old, it sounds like a harley and blows like Monica Lewinsky.  I can shoot a rooster about 50' into the air.   Anyway, thats enough bitchin about winter. It's gonna be 48 degrees saturday with a chance of a thunderstorm.  It's gonna make for a slushy fuckin mess.  Thank goodness I have 2 nites of musical bliss to enjoy this weekend at the Chicago Theater.

I just landed a D in a course I need a C in to graduate. Here's to two semesters of English 3000. I guess that's what I get for breaking someone's heart the day before classes started, eh? Here's to the most ridiculous semester I've been a part of. Hear, hear! Seriously, I probably shouldn't assume that I can work 25 hours a week at Borders and get A's in 15 hours worth of classes next semester, right?
