I spent all day talking to fraud investigators. >:(

Someone stole my identity, made a withdrawal out of my bank account and opened two new credit cards - and charged on them.

Had to put a freeze on my bank accounts (and will have to close them) and a freeze on my credit.  Closed out the fraudulent accounts.  Next step - going to the department of motor vehicles because  my driver's license number was compromised as well.  And in CA the DMVs are closed on Friday due to budget cuts.  Filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission.  Waiting for a return call from the police - will be waiting a while thanks again to budget cuts.

The real pisser - my personal identification was compromised because of disclosure requirements for my employment.

WTF!!! Can't they be held liable for that if you know it was their fault??

Man that pisses me off too. I had a problem with paypal being compromised. I'm starting to lay low with that stuff and cancelling some accounts. This cyber highway sucks.

Ugh, that suuuuucks, LucyLew.  So sorry.

Sounds like you did everything you need to do to fix the problem.  It's such a hassle, isn't it?  Something similar happened to me last year...someone stole my credit card information to charge a flight to Kenya.   ;D

my grandfather had another stroke. i have spent the past few days with my family, which have been good, but... i hate seeing my granddad suffering. there isn't much more his doctors can do for him, and i wish that he could just be... better.

it's really hard to deal with.

Sorry, Meg.  I hate to hear that.  The quality of life doesn't seem fair in situations where health issues meet up with advanced age.  You just kind of want it to go one way or the other.  I hope he gets better, though...for his sake and your family's.  :-/

Crap, I was told today at 2PM that I needed to go out of town tomorrow morning for 2 days. I was able to talk myself out of that, however, I still need to go next week. Not really wanting to do this trip. It's in the middle of nowwhere in Nebraska. I don't mind going home, but not for work shit. It's going to be hot, smelly, and I'm going to get stuck doing the work that I'm going to go and map out the process. Just what I need, more fucking work to do. How many hours are in a day? 30 now?
