that's my tattoo.

it's from the gospels when Jesus tells the parable of the different seeds falling on different ground. the way it concludes is: "and some seed fell on good soil, each one springing up and producing crops of grain; some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty."

and i caught a glimpse at how beautiful the love of Christ is through that and something stuck out at me about the phrase "onehundredfold". It's kind of a give back what you've got idea, but it's not just that. Each one of us is planted here not so that we can grow or sow seeds on our own accord, but to grow as a plant that produces a crop. we're not for our own use. we're here to grow and produce even as much as a hundred times what we're worth. i don't want to live up to anything less than that, and i surely don't want to forget that either. so i thought i'd get it tattooed on my collarbone where i'll see it everyday. and if that weren't enough, my lady has begun to remind it's there almost daily, as well. so i'm surely not forgetting it. the fun thing has been how much more has been revealed to me regarding it since i got it.

the first being that someone pointed out that it's in red like a Bible where Jesus' words are all in red.


the second being that i later realized/remembered that it's the only parable that Christ ever actually opens up and explains to his disciples, in order that they might begin to understand the way the other parables work. as an aspiring English, this then becomes even more important to me.

and then lastly: i found the passage i pulled this from in the gospel written by Matthew. I later read the gospel written by Luke and found this when Jesus describes what the seed that fell on the good soil are:

"As for that in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patience."

And that's what I strive for.

Here's a few pics from the holidays.  Enjoy these, because I never dress up.  EVER.  Anyway, here's me, my Grandparents and my sister right before going out to a bloody mary party.  It was a CRAZY party.  I think I was the youngest one there (the average age was probably 40) but it was a blast.
