That stuff is very tasty. I had it for the first time in like 5 years (when I didnt use to be such a beer snob), and never thought Id like a pale ale more than the Dogfishead 60 MIN, but the 2 Hearted put it to shame  :o

Tried Lagunitas' 2009 Correction Ale a couple of weeks ago.  Nice, hoppy, grape-fruity/citrus-y flavor.  More enjoyable than the beer, was the label:

I think we're all Bozos on this bus... I mean, really - who would ever have given their money to a guy with a name like "Made-Off?" If one day an oily guy named Soprano showed up at your door wearing a suit that said Countrywide offering free money; who would have taken it? Isn't 'free money' an oxymoron? If it was all too good to be true, it was. Wasn't the end in sight when 'Flip This House' went on television...? In the future 2009 will be in there with 1929, 1941, and 1968. OK, we ALL partied down and, YES, we took some liberties with some of our female guests. But now it's the day after Mardi Gras when everyone kneels down and prays. Apparently, it really is possible to have too much fun. But it is far better tohave partied and lost than to never have partied at all. Gracefully surrender the things of 2008. Smoke a fag, drink a beer, and buy toothpaste...in that order. Live to party again...

Enjoying a Hop Slam to wrap up this evening's beer adventures.  Have one bottle left.  Might pop that one on Labor Day.  ;)

I finally tried the Hopslam a month or so ago. Very good, but at $60 a case, I can live without it.

I finish off a six pack the other night.  At 19 bucks, I don't think I can swing anymore for a while.  But, oh so good.

I finally went to the LQ Drew (Tower) was telling me about on here about a year ago.  My god, it's amazing.  They have 20 beers on tap for growlers and none of them bad.  No american pilsners, stuff like 90 minute IPA, arrogant bastard, seasonals from New Holland and Boulder Brewing Company, etc. etc.  Too much to drink at one time.  Although I did "taste test" about 8 of them.  ;)

My first batch of homebrew was ready for the weekend.  Drank that all weekend.  It was an extra-hopped Amber Ale.  The beer shop where I bought the kit called it "Crossroads Ale."  I must say it was delicious  8-)  I was not expecting some of the side effects tho, namely a very distinctive, well, gaseous odor if you get my drift....gross I know, but it did strangely attract some ladies at the bar.  Go figure.  Anyone else here brew?  Time to get a second batch started, that first one didn't last long
We could.

I've always wanted to but just haven't done it yet.  I think my brother in law is growing his own hops next year.  That sounds like just as much fun to me.

Yeah, that's my next step.  I love the smell.  I just used a kit this time, but eventually I want to grow all my own ingredients, or at least as many as possible/practical, and start designing my own brews.  Brewing from the kit was much, much easier than expected.

Newcastle was such a nice change yesterday from all of the heavy hops! Can't wait to get to VT next week to slurp up some Long Trail Ale... :)

Sunday night, I had a pint of anderson valley brewing company's deep ender's porter.  It was very good. One of the best I've had.  The best though, which I had in WA, and they don't ship (tiny town in BFE with population of 250 maybe) was the smoked northporter from Nortport Brewing Company.  It was a whole in the wall that used to be a grocery, and the owner played gutiar, banjo, and mandolin for us all night.

I will..I think the brewery is actually near where my pops lives because I know he visited it and got me a Moose Drool pint glass (that has since been broken so I guess Im getting another one).

Totally forgot about Moose Drool until you brought it up, so I think Im def going to have to add that to the what Im going to do and visit the brewery....although Id probably rather just drink the brew  ;D

I'd love to visit  that brewery. I've been to the Miller plant 3 times, and the brewery from my hometown both were pretty sweet. My brother wants to take me to the New Belgium brewery for a tour, and I said when's the next flight? Obvious Fat Tire fans.

I lived in Chico, CA for many years and have spent many hours (and dollars) at the Sierra Nevada Brewery.  I think I got spoiled.
