QuoteJust ordered Wings Of Desire for only $8 @ amazon  :D
I absolutely loved it db!  Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds make a performing appearance.
Yeah it's one of those movies that I know all about but just never got round to watching for one reason or another. I also ordered The Lives Of Others.

Coming in the next few months I've got No Country For Old Men, American Gangster, Into The Wild, Darjeeling Limited, Bee Movie, Extras Finale Special, The Assassination of Jesse Blah Blah Blah, Gone Baby Gone, Before the Devil Knows You're Dead, Reservation Road & Into The Valley Of Elah. I might cancel one or 2 of them if they get Japanese release dates.

Hopefully "The Assassination Blah Blah Blah" gets a release date. It's all about the beautiful landscapes and cinematography.

Seen "I'm Not There" last week. The Jim James cameo was the highlight. Respect for Todd Haynes as an inventive stylist, but I had no idea what he was trying to tell with this story. Nothing I couldn't get out of Bawb's music at least.

Not an expert on foreign films, but one of my favorites is "Festen" by Tomas Vinterberg. The first dogma film if I'm not mistaken. Very funny and tragic.

The only 'dogma' film I've seen (i think) is Breaking The Waves. The critics and I definitely didn't see eye to eye on that one  :-/

Was it strange seeing Heath Ledger in I'm Not There?
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

How cool was the Iron Man Super Bowl TV spot?!! Prince Caspian looks good but Iron Man was the best of the bunch!

Heath shared most of his scenes with Charlotte Gainsbourg.
That might be the reason why I wasn't thinking about him too much  :-/

'The Hottest State' directed by Ethan Hawke (based on his novel of the same name).

Good in places but it didn't blow me away - worth seeing though.

realdeal

Children of Men staring Clive Owen. It's a story that take place in London in the year 2027 I believe. For the past 20 years, women all over the world have not been able to give birth. Except for one young woman that Clive has to transport to the 'Human Project'. You should see it.

Juno - Ugh, so f*cking good.  Ellen Page broke my heart, Jason Bateman and Michael Cera blew me away.  And the soundtrack!  Perfect.

It is indeed The Frames. You can also get the Once soundtrack, which is excellent. Also, Glen and Marketa from Once also form the duo called The Swell Season which just finished a highly successful tour of North America (I saw them at a sold out Toronto show). Look for them to perform "Falling Slowly" from Once at this year's Oscars - the song was nominated.

The Body Snatcher (1945) - an early horror near-masterpiece by the great Robert Wise (The Set-Up, The Day The Earth Stood Still, West Side Story, The Haunting, The Sound of Music, The Sand Pebbles), starring Boris Karloff and Bela Legosi. Excellent movie.

The DARK
