12 Monkeys
Awesome, can't believe I've never seen it before.  That being said, I always have a hard time watching Gilliam's films - I think it's his visual style that makes me uneasy.

Quotecan never go wrong with Delicatessen IMO

Haven't watched it yet but its in my possession. Being There was very good, i liked the surreal approach they took. Has anyone else seen this? I didn't really realize the influence until the last scene.
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

QuoteJackie Chan busted out the Zui Quan, the only style that I'm even remotely effective in

I am deadly in Crane Style.  Years of wax on, wax off.  If I ever make it to Jacketfest, we're gonna have a gong-fu throwdown...  ;)
The trouble with the straight and the narrow is it's so thin, I keep sliding off to the side

Dude, I would love to do that... I'm sure somebody would get some pretty ridiculously funny photos out of that. Crane style is beautiful... Don't know how it would match up against Zui Quan, but I promise to go easy on you.

I prefer Praying Mantis Style

I'm just too reliant on closed-fist techniques for Mantis...

I was trying to find a picture of the dude from Shaolin Soccer trying to do Mantis style, but sadly not luck. Much better looking them the uber serious ninja dude I did find :(

Watched In Bruges this afternoon.  Very well written, with some outstanding swearing from all concerned.  Good turn from Farrell, too and a nice appearance from Fiennes as a psycopathic London gangster.

Great film.

This looks like it could be hilarious.  A modern day Spinal Tap?

Go behind-the-scenes of one of the biggest tours the jam band world has ever seen in "National Lampoon presents Electric Apricot: Quest For Festeroo." It's the first film directed by world-renowned singer/bassist, Les Claypool, who makes his acting debut in the film. National Lampoon presents Electric Apricot: Quest For Festeroo is a hilarious mockumentary that gives viewers a glimpse into the entertaining world of jam bands while following one group, Electric Apricot, on their journey to discover musical enlightenment. The DVD features hours of never-before-seen footage, including actor and director commentaries, deleted scenes and bloopers, cast interviews, theatrical trailer, easter eggs and more!

Featuring rock legends such as the Grateful Dead's Bob Weir, Phish's Mike Gordon as well as Warren Haynes and Matt Abts from Gov't Mule, this clever and entertaining film also features classic cameo appearances from Seth Green (Austin Powers in Goldmember, The Italian Job) and "South Park's" Matt Stone and was produced by Jason McHugh (producer of debut features for Trey Parker from "South Park").
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

I see you like Guillermo del Toro. You gotta check out del Toro's earlier ghost film The Devil's Backbone. It is scary, but it has a soul and an uplifting message. Here's the Rotten Tomatoes reviews: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/devils_backbone/

Also worth watching is del Toro's first Hollywood film Mimic and his vampire film Cronos.

I'll have to check those out. I only bought Hellboy due to how much I like Pan's Labyrinth, it didn't seem like the type of movie I'd like when it came out (i do like some comic book adaptations, not my favorite genre).

LOVED Lars and the Real Girl.  my husband thinks ryan gosling looks like jim james.   i guess kinda?  i like movies where they don't tell you exactly what is going on.  good one!

I'm Not There - It was good, I liked it the more it went on. I didn't like the parts with Alice Fabian, it came off as a mocumentary. My favorite part was when the Jude character was fucked up at that party. I've really liked Charlotte Gainsbourg ever since Science Of Sleep.
