QuoteI feel bad that you cant enjoy Usual Suspects Xmas

MORE SPOILERS

I love The Usual Suspects. And it does have a couple clues. For one thing, Soze means "talkitive" in Turkish, so that would give it away immediately to a whole nation of people. You see Verbal working a lighter for a second or two during a flashback. You can see Soze's watch and lighter at the beginning and again when Verbal's picking up his things after the interview. Of course, I didn't notice any of that the first time. Anyway, who cares, it's just a fucking great movie.

And as for Miller's Crossing, I can't explain why I love it, but it makes me very happy. Some great lines in there. Beautiful score. Excellent performances. It's pretty incredible in every way.

I actually called out Spacey as Soze the first time I watched it only 20 minutes in, but Id probably call it more of a hunch/guess than picking up those things or knowing for sure.

And gimme a break with the Turkish thing...how many people speak Turkish??! ;D

I love seeing Sam Raimi as a gangster in Miller's Crossing. It's the Cohen's paying tribute to their past working relationship with Raimi.

My wife is going to her parents tomorrow night so I was really looking forward to getting a crab pizza (my wife is allergic so we don't usually order them but they're so good!) & watching The Godfather Prt2 but I've just discovered that The Muppet's Christmas Carol is on!

Godfather Prt2 Vs Muppet Christmas Carol?  :-?
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

rhinoceros eyes - the first hour was okay, but then it got worse.  waste of my time.  avoid it!

I watched a bit of Two Days in Paris last night.  I need to finish it.  It was pretty damn hilarious.

i think of it as before sunset/sunrise-lite, but entirely from julie delpy's mind.  needless to say, i loved it (even though i didn't think it was a great film, or anything).  adam goldberg is the best.

ALady

I couldn't get into before sunset/sunrise at all, but I really liked this for some reason.  And we agree on Adam Goldberg.

'Tis the season to watch The Hebrew Hammer...

this made me think of a movie called Albino Alligator...it was pretty good, and had a damn good cast - Faye Dunaway, Viggo Mortensen, Matt Dillon, Gary Sinise, William Fichtner. M Emmett Walsh and was directed by Kevin Spacey

I need to get a copy of Paths of Glory. Great movie. The only other one I've seen on that list is 8 1/2, which is one of the best movies ever.

If you havent seen Kung Fu Hustle, that movie is awesome....Its not slapstick comedy like Kung Pow, but its funny while also being good and action filled throughout

Kung Fu Hustle is great, but I enjoyed Shaolin Soccer more. Hilarious! I think I read somewhere Stephen Chow was doing a sequal to KFH

Can't say I loved either one of them but enjoyed both.  Kung Fu Hustle wins more creative points but I thought Shaolin Soccer was more fun!

KFH II should be interesting.  Chow's gonna have to up the ante.  It's kind of a tough act to follow in that weird, quirky genre that he has monopolized...IMHO

Hell Ride, written and directed (and starring) Larry Bishop, produced by Tarantino. Most would recognize Bishop as the strip club owner in Kill Bill 2. Also stars Michael Madsen and Dennis Hopper with cameos by Vinnie Jones and David Carradine. Its a tip of the hat to the motorcycle gang B-movies of the 60s. Pretty good, should help hold me over until Inglourious Bastards comes out.
Say friend, you got any more of that good sasparilla?

QuoteStill do not have seen Romeo. Damn Netflix and the stupid DVD Regions. grrrrr
Looks like the whole thing is up on youtube. Far from perfect but better than nothing? It's not a bad print either...

http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=l-jPRrVjC9c

Just watched the first couple of mins - now I need to watch it again!!!  ;D

:o Paddy Considine = fucking great psycho! That was really good. Dammit, I wish this was out in region free or Region 1.
I hope a Region1 DVD appears sometime soon, it's one of those movies that gets better every time you watch it.
Another classic from the great Paddy Considine! The scene where you first see what he's capable of, when Romeo goes to get the ice creams & Paddy's character lays into Gavin.

I have a thing Romeo's sister Ladine (Vicky McClure) she was one of the skinheads in This Is England:

Excellent soundtrack too!

Vicky looks a lot like my good friend. I wouldn't kick her out of bed for eatin crackers if ya know what I mean.

Yeah that scene was chilling. I read up a little after watching and didn't realize this was Paddy's first movie. Helluva fucking start don't ya think. Sheesh.

Also watched the trailer for Somers Town. Damn, I really want to see that too. Looks like it hits DVD in the UK Jan 12. No US date yet. grrrrr
