Capote - Exceptional movie of an exceptional story.
Very moving with excellent turns from the ever reliable Philip Seymour Hoffman & Catherine Keener.
At least the Academy got one thing right this year...

Anyone else seen the new trailer for Superman Returns?
I like Bryan Singer but wasn't too sure about this one until I saw the new trailer just now - wow!

looks kinda interesting... coz its got kevin spacey in it!!! i had no idea he was doing this one...

and it looks like YET AGAIN the lois lane character is a cardboard-cutout kind of character...

That's a great little movie! I thought the actress who played Paikea was great. I loved her relationship with her Grandfather.
Did you know that the director Niki Caro followed that one up with North Country? Not in the same league unfortunately...

i had heard that! i thought whalerider was such a beautiful film (even though i had to watch it on commercial tv, so it was continually broken up with ads)... keisha castle-hughes was amazing, especially considering she was only 11 or 12 at the time.

i've seen previews for north country, but i dunno... just doesn't catch my attention... i've heard fairly mixed reviews too....

Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003 remake) & Broken Flowers.
Didn't like the former, loved the latter. Tonight I'm watching Chicken Little!!!

king kong - (finally) - was generally really impressed, although some of the cgi effects were a little obvious at times....

Lilja 4-ever - a sad & disturbing film by one of my fav directors Lukas Moodysson. Excellent but not easy to watch.

Question: Has anyone seen Transamerica? Is it any good?

surpisingly great for a third sequel. action packed as hell and philip seymour hoffman kickes ass. oh man, he was so damn evil in that, he stirred me up. such a damn bastard.

i cannot imagine what having your wife killed in front of your face must feel like, but that movie sent me through it, and holy shit. that made me writhe.

was tom cruise any good in it? i read a review the other day that most of the movie was him running (literally) around a lot... bit like all the harrison ford action movies i guess (the fugitive etc etc)
