QuoteUP was so good and so sad and so funny and so cute and so sad and so heartwarming all at once.

see it now.
Yeah, you totally nailed it Jenny.  So good.  There were tears in my eyes like fifteen minutes in.  Saw it in 3-D, which made it even that much better (is it only in 3-D?).

I wish more studios would follow Pixar's lead and put a little pride into the films they produce instead of just churning out derivative garbage.

Saw UP tonight as well. Jenny was pretty spot on. That part 10-15 minutes in and then later on when he finally arrives to the destination pulled on the heartstrings for me as well (I could see how to a kid those scenes wouldnt really come off as sad probably, but that was the most emotional stuff IMO Ive seen in a Disney/Pixar movie).

Great movie though, dare I say my favorite from Pixar?! Maybe not, but it was really good.

I was hoping the theater I went to had it in 3-D, and I expected it to because its a very nice 24 theater w/ IMAX Loews theater, but they only had it in 2-D. Im jealous you got it in 3-D, Im sure it was that much more awesomer. I might even want to see it again if I could find a place around here with it in 3-D.

Oh, and I thought the "Partly Cloudy" short at the beginning was good too.

As per the 2nd part of your statement, I dont know if you got the same previews as me, but the 6 previews or so I saw were total poo. Guinea Pig spy comedy?! okehhh..

Been wanting to see In Bruges for awhile now and finally just did. Despite going in with high expectations, it even surpassed them and I thought it was fantastic.

Colin Farrell was great. Ive always thought he was a pretty good actor who chose some bad roles, so I wouldnt say I was surprised by how good he was, but he stole a lot of scenes. I thought the way Fiennes did his character he kind of stole from Kingsley a la Sexy Beast, but that didnt bother me. The conversations in the hotel room when theyre all coked up and at the table outdoors when Fiennes sits down with Gleeson were priceless. I really enjoyed the recurring "fairy tale/dream" references to the city and the movie almost is like an adult fairy tale in a sense and I thought it came full circle perfectly from Gleeson getting back to the top of the tower with the fog thru the end of the movie.

Its usually a bad thing for me when I go in with high expectations because I come away disappointed, but not this time!  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

My cousin told me yesterday that its the funniest movie he's ever seen. I thought it looked good but not great based on the previews, but he said its 100 times better than the previews and that he didnt think he ever went 60 seconds without laughing. Also said the theater he was in was sold out and gave it a standing ovation when it ended.

...I think im going to be seeing it sooner rather than later, and not seeing all those damn commercials for it all the time anymore is certainly helping. If you think its better than Role Models, its gotta be good. i'll be pleasantly surprised if I would put it in my 10 favorite comedies of all time after seeing it though.

Vicky Cristina Barcelona. Thought it looked like a chick flick at first, but it held my attention throughout and turned out to be entertaining. Johanna and Penelope did a great job, and after seeing the countryside, I now want to go to Spain.

Maybe Im forgetting a movie or 2, but the commercials I seem to be seeing the most by far right now cant be more polar opposities.

1 of them is Year One. I love Jack Black, Id say I like almost every movie I've seen that he's in from Bongwater to High Fidelity to King Kong, but this movie looks terrible. On the NBA pregame Jimmy Kimmel show tonight, him and Michael Cera promoted it while being "trapped" in an elevator, and they make a pretty funny duo when being themselves, but this movie just looks terrible. I think it looks much worse than last year's terrible blockbuster comedies YCMWTZohan and Love Guru. I think it could be in that Ishtar and Adventures of Pluto Nash category of historically terrible comedies.

On the other hand, I keep seeing previews for Public Enemies. This movie looks awesome. Not only does it have the Bale and Depp's star power and talent, but I love the supporting cast - Marion Cotillard, Stephen Dorff, Giovanni Ribisi, Channing Tatum, Billy Crudup, Rory Cochrane, Lili Taylor, James Russo, Shawn Hatosy. Damn, talk about about a cast. But despite all of this and the trailer looking fantastic, I KNOW it will be good because of Michael Mann writing and directing it. Maybe he kind of fudged up Miami Vice, but no way this wont be his best movie since Heat (and I loved Collateral, but PE looks like its on another level).

...end my movie love/hate  ;D

From Here to Eternity. Frank won an Oscar and Montgomery Clift should serve as a model for all of these talentless schmucks around today that call themselves actors. Watch it if you ever have a chance...

Too bad Clift lived recklessly when he was young, like many actors do today. Great film. I think Clift is better in Red River, but both are masterpieces. Gotta love Ernest Borgnine too.

Red River is on my list. Also have to watch part of the beginning of Eternity to see if I can spot George Reeves who I missed the first two times but when I read about it on wiki yesterday said he was in there. Clift died at 45 and Errol Flynn died at 50. Clift was one of James Deans role models...

Just saw UP.  What an incredible movie- it was so touching.  I cried really hard and laughed just as much- a fun and meaningful movie-  Pixar kicks so much ass.  Great story, great animation, great voice acting, great comedy, just great
Oh I'll never say I knew you, but my heart can't wait to meet you on the other side

watched revolutionary road last night, and i was thoroughly disappointed. the actors were great, but the film adaptation of the novel left much to be desired. i don't feel like the characters were as fully developed as yates intended them to be... everyone's struggles seemed  trivial or self-indulgent as a result.

just goes to further prove the eternal theory:
