Coraline - I didn't see it in 3D, but it was still a very impressive movie.

LEATHER KID

I saw it in 3d at the theater and I was very impressed.  Thought it could be a little scary for a youngster though.
IT'S ALL FUCKIN' CHEESE!!

I too loved 500 days of summer- a fantastic and light movie- really great handling of the progression of time.

I saw district 9 at the drive-in.  we got there late and it was hard to hear.  From what I saw (and heard) I really enjoyed it.  I'm seeing it in a regular theater next week so I'm pretty pumped.
Oh I'll never say I knew you, but my heart can't wait to meet you on the other side

I've been really wanting to see this.

The International

Better than I expected. Clive Owen tries infiltrate a bank that provides cheap firearms to nations in conflict by trying to get employees to turn on the organization. There's an excellent shootout scene at the Guggenheim. Not much else to say, just a good, dramatic thriller. Armin Mueller Stahl was very good in a supporting part

Rambo

this was what you want every action movie to be like: BADASS. Liked this as much as any of the other Rambo's. I'll take this anyday over the recent, over the top, Die Hard movie. Apparently another Rambo is supposed to come out in 2011 and Mickey Rourke's going to be in it, im assuming as the villain

Saw Inglourious Basterds last night. I liked it, better than Death Proof at least. Brad Pitt is great again, he's really on a roll lately. Very dialogue heavy once again, QT could've balanced the action and dialogue a little better. Only Tarantino would have characters talking about movies in a WW2 movie, the climax even happens in a movie theater. There was one douchebag who walked out and shouted "this movie is fucking boring!"  >:( The rest of the crowd seemed to like it and clapped at the end.
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

I just got back from watching this movie. I thought Pitt was great in his role. Overall, I don't think it is the best Tarantino movie, but it is one of his better ones (a lot better than Death Proof, as well). This movie is classic Tarantino with the over the top violence. But the movie had serious drama aspects as well. Good movie if you are a fan of Tarantino, and an above average movie for everyone else.

When hasnt he been on a roll?!

I dont see any stretch where he hasnt had a good performance of more than 2 years besides 01-04, and that was moreso him not being in almost no movies as opposed to being in bad movies.

Im confident saying right now that Pitt is the best actor of his generation. A River Runs Through It, Kalifornia, True Romance, Interview With The Vampire, Legends of the Fall, Seven, 12 Monkeys, Sleepers, Devil's Own, Fight Club, Snatch, The Mexican, Ocean's 11, Troy, Babel, Assassination of Jesse James, Burn After Reading, Benjamin Button.

His recent run does rival his Interview-Devil's Own run though.

Cant wait to see Inglourious Basterds

You're right, I didn't mean to downplay his other movies. In fact, several of those are among my favorite movies - Fight Club, Seven, Sleepers, etc...I am really impressed with his comedic acting as of late.

The Bank Job

Liked this a lot. Not that it was supposed to be related, but this was much better than The Italian Job. Probably 1 of the best movies Ive seen from last year, especially when not including movie snob movies.

The Hurricane

First time Ive seen this since around when it just came out on DVD. Even better than I remember. I think I might even like it more than the more recent very good biopics Walk the Line and Ray. Denzel kills. If it wasnt for Spacey's excellent turn in American Beauty, I think Denzel wins best actor of 1999.

Agreed (except the Eli Roth part), I was disappointed with Public Enemies and recently with District 9.

Going to see Halloween II at the midnight showing!   :D

dragonboy

Saw most of these on the plane; Boat That Rocked, I Love You, Man, Monsters Vs Aliens, Wolverine, The Soloist & District 9.

Any thoughts on the Avatar trailer? Good but not that good I thought...

Avatar looks pretty cool, but with movies like that, you never really know how good they are until they come out. Since Cameron is directing it, I expect it to be good or better.

Inception does look pretty badass. I'll have high expectations for that one considering Nolan and DiCaprio are part of it.

How was The Soloist? Been wanting to see that one.

I thought this was a live action version of the Nick cartoon Avatar, Last of the Airbenders. I could have sworn I read they were making a live action version of it. This wasn't that.
