Have not seen it yet. Not even sure if its still in theaters around here, but if I dont catch it soon, that'll be one of those movies ill watch as soon as its on DVD. Seeing that clip makes me realize how long its been since Ive actually watched that movie. Good catch!

Day of the Dead
Ving Rhames. Zombie. No legs. Thats pretty much all you need to know. I realize zombie movies arent exactly supposed to be serious, but this was a laughfest for me. Mena Suvari as some commanding army officer?! Gimme a break! Nick Cannon added some more comic relief that was actually pretty funny. Not funny like Shaun of the Dead or Fido, but a comical zombie movie nonetheless.

Freddy Got Fingered
Sick, stupid, and demented....yet I found myself laughing out loud every few minutes. This has to be one of the dumbest comedies ever made, but if you can tolerate Tom Green's humor, its surprisingly funny.

30 Days Of Night - rubbish. I want to watch Let The Right One In again to cleanse my palette...
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

Taken & 500 Days of Summer both were good but didn't rock my socks

Because we're all in this together...

TEO

Finished Blue Velvet and Rollerball, now I am working on Fahrenheit 451. Julie Christie...mmmmmmm

Caught up with some films on recent flights.

I liked:

Up (really liked this, but it's embarrassing to be a grown man crying on a plane while watching a cartoon!)
Hurt Locker
HP and the HBP

These were OK:

District 9
Public Enemies

The trouble with the straight and the narrow is it's so thin, I keep sliding off to the side

Don't be embarrassed... Up was wickedly touching!
Oh I'll never say I knew you, but my heart can't wait to meet you on the other side

this movie is going to be all kinds of awesome

do you think you have to be able to bench press a certain amount of weight to gain access to the movie?

The Uninvited
Much better than I expected, and twist at the end I didnt see coming. Certainly a few plot holes and some things that shouldve been explained more as the ending is pretty abrupt, but overall they dont really detract from the movie. If I remember correctly, they seemed to advertise this as a horror movie, but its more of a thriller actually. I always thought Elizabeth Banks was just a pretty face, but she was very good in this and the best performance Ive seen from her. Better than most box office movies of this ilk. I may have missed some hints to the ending though because Arielle Kebbel just got a new fan  :-* http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_bZCg4mNAWbI/SLsxjpAu-kI/AAAAAAAABA0/QnOdZ7A68hY/s400/Arielle_Kebbel_1.jpg

Choke
Ive wanted to see this for awhile but my expectations were tempered when I started reading reviews. I, however, liked it a lot and it seems most of the negative reviews come from people who read Palahniuk's book and didnt think the movie was as good (which is usually the case, no?). Sam Rockwell plays the lead who is a sex addict and chokes at restaurants to help pay his mom's medical bills. He was excellent and I think remains one of the most underrated and underutilized actors going. Angelica Huston was also good as his mom. Even this movie had a twist in it, which helped explain a few parts of the movie earlier that seemed a little weird and I didnt quite get. Not for everybody, but I throughly enjoyed it and found it funny often.

The Uninvited is a remake of the Korean film A Tale Of Two Sisters. I haven't seen The Uninvited, might watch to compare it with the original.
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

went to see "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" last night; enjoyed it.

The Tripper
Hippies in the forest for a festy get slashed by an axe wielding Ronald Reagan. Had decent expectations, started out good, but I lost interest in the last hour. Not worth the watch.

RocknRolla
Liked it just about as much as Lock Stock and Snatch, which I didnt expect. Felt like Gerard Butler was basically Statham's fill in. Wilkinson was good but he's been better and was overshadowed by his No. 1 I thought. Although I liked it a lot, it would be nice if Guy Ritchie switched up his formula some (although I guess he did for Revolver, which I thought was pretty bad). Interesting how his major movies have all revolved around a desired object - shotguns, diamond, painting. Two times and I thought it was coincidence, three times and he clearly begins writing his movies this way Id say.

I dug the inclusion of some Black Keys song(s) too....well, I knew The Breaks was them, but I thought Have Love Will Travel was them too, but its some other band - the Sonics?!....sounded exactly like the Keys  :-?

I'm DYING to see Crazy Heart but unfortunately, it either isn't playing in my city or it did and I missed it. It's also a funny thing because it was filmed in my city? you'd think my town folk would make a bigger deal about having it play here  :-?

Yeah, Up In The Air was filmed in St. Louis and it's all I heard about for what seemed like a year!
