QuoteAnd one of my favorites from that era, the original Flight of the Phoenix, with Jimmy Stewart, Richard Attenborough, and Ernest Borgnine.  Great film.
Marty, Flight Of The Phoenix, The Dirty Dozen, The Wild Bunch, The Poseidon Adventure, Emperor Of The North, Convoy...The Black Hole even, what guy doesn't love Ernest Borgnine?! (I always thought my Grandad on my Dad's side looked a little like him)

God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

Haha I've seen bits of that on the TV...I do love South Park, is it really worth watching? Come to think of it I've not seen Team America either.

STOP WHATEVER YOU ARE DOING. You need to watch both. Hilarious stuff. Do not forget Orgazmo. Orgazmo and Team America you have to see the Unrated versions. Here is the them to Orgazmo.

Tonight was yet another viewing of what has fast become a guilty pleasure, the most consistently funny movie...

Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story or more accurately...

Walk Hard: American Cox, the Unbearably Long, Self-Indulgent Director's Cut

I alway laugh like Dewey walks... HARD!  You don't want no part of this shit!

The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

Janet

Yeah, that movie pretty much rules.

TheBigChicken

The Men Who Stare At Goats....so funny
the fruit bats love makin' made all the kids cry

I hardly ever go to the movies but I saw The Runaways over the weekend.  It was cute in a girl-power kind of way, though the overall band-bio structure was pretty formulaic.  Twilight girl did a really good job as Joan Jett; she was very convincing.  Dakota Fanning was pretty good too, though she played Cherie Currie a bit prissier than I'd have preferred.

Dewey is hilarious

I secretly have a serious crush on K Stewert, and I do not know why. I thought she was fine in Adventureland also. I hope someone is keeping a leash on Dakota to keep her from pulling a Lohan or a BSpears. She is growing to be a decent actress and very attractive. That usually spells disaster in Hollywood.

For extra fun, watch this on youtube and engage the captions mode.  Way off and wicked funny.

Before Sunrise and Before Sunset are 2 of my favorites!!!! If you like Julie Delpy's movies you should check out 2 Days In Paris-it is wonderful!

Paris is magical, I dont care if its cliche-I love that place.
Because we're all in this together...

Black Dynamite - funny. I did a spit take at the end when Tricky Dick busted out the 'chucks

Frost/Nixon
Pretty much what I expected. Liked it, didnt love it, but it was def well done. Langella and Sheen carry it, not a surprise both got oscar noms.
4.1/5

The Men Who Stare At Goats
I enjoyed it, but I felt like it could have been better. I expected Spacey's character to be what it was, but I wouldve preferred him to have a character more similar to Bridges. Bridges def needed more screentime, and thats the biggest flaw. Liked the turn for the last 20 minutes or so, but I think that desert lab deserved more screen time if thats how they were going to go.
3.8/5

Ichi The Killer - Pretty bizarre movie, slightly more gory than I'd normally go for in a movie. Overall I liked it, the Kakihara character was the best part of the movie. The DVD cover is misleading, it has Kakihara on it, who I originally thought would be Ichi.

Gangster No. 1 - Decent British gangster movie, seemed like it was missing something from making it great. It didn't make sense to have both Malcolm McDowell and Paul Bettany playing the same character. The other characters were played by the same actor when shown at an advanced age, using your standard movie makeup. I'm guessing they just wanted to have another big name in the movie. As far as the British gangster film goes, I prefer Lock Stock..., Sexy Beast, and Layer Cake.

Invincible - The one by Werner Herzog starring Tim Roth, not the Marky Mark movie. Very underrated, I thought it was great. I know there's a few Herzog fans here, what do guys think? Another misleading DVD cover unfortunately, Tim Roth is not even the main character and in about half the movie. His performance is great as usual though. It was really quite stunning visually, I especially liked the shots of the jellyfish and the dream sequences with all those red crabs everywhere. I'm looking forward to seeing Herzog's Bad Lieutenant, witch comes out on DVD next week.
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

Kick-Ass: laugh out loud funny, extremely violent (for a 15 certificate) & hugely entertaining. Kick-Ass features one of, if not the best use of an Elvis song in a movie ever! Chloe Grace Moretz stole the show as Hit Girl but (dare I say it?!) Nicolas Cage was...quite good  :o

Five big thumbs-up, this could very easily be one of the films of the year  [smiley=thumbsup.gif] [smiley=thumbsup.gif] [smiley=thumbsup.gif] [smiley=thumbsup.gif] [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Glad to hear its good, but whats your beef with Nic Cage?! Yes, especially this past decade he had plenty of crap, but he's a very good actor when he decides to take on a good role/movie. Adaptation, Leaving Las Vegas, Red Rock West, 8MM, etc.

And I wouldnt be surprised if most people didnt like Con Air, Face/Off, and to a lesser degree, The Rock, but I absolutely love those flicks.

Cage has def mostly taken paychecks lately, but he's a solid actor when he wants to be.
