QuoteLoved this movie.
Jesse Eisenberg should be in more stuff, even Kristin Stewart ALMOST acted.
Great 80s soundtrack, Amadeus and Crowded House..niiiiice.

Yeah, this was one of my favorite movies from last year. It was filmed at Kennywood here in Pittsburgh as well. Had much more character, depth, and charisma than basically all movies like it these days.

If you havent seen them, Eisenberg is great in Rodger Dodger and The Squid & The Whale. He's also going to be in The Social Network that comes out later this year, directed by David Fincher where Eisenberg plays the creator of facebook.

I guess I'm the only one who thought adventureland blew hard.

I saw Scott Pilgrim v. the World twice last weekend. I am a big fan of the graphic novel series, and I thought the film did the series justice. Plus, the soundtrack is badass: Beck wrote most of the songs 'Sex Bob-Omb' plays. If you haven't seen it yet, go. It's epic.

Heard the Beck tune "Ramona" on the radio last night, liked it...Sounded like something off Mutations or maybe Sea Change.

The movie looks terrible to me but maybe I'll watch sometime when Im shwasted.

'Say Anything' with John Cusaack and Ione Syke.

Peter Gabriel's 'In Your Eyes' = amazing.

Salt - 4/10: Rehashed idea once again from hollywood.  it's one of those movies where you could tell the story in 20minutes if you really wanted to.  I'll be honest, it had potential after it got going but it fell back on cliches and stupidity by the end.  It's like the bourne series only lamer.

Twilight: Eclipse - 2/10: I swear this is the dumbest, most boring, drawn out movie series in american movie cinema history.  "omgz I like jacob, omgz I like edwardz omgz omgz omgz".  lame.

Centurion 5/10: For what it was I thought it was alright.  it had the dude from the wire and he was pretty sweet.  there was tons of battles but I laughed at a lot of it.  cheesy for real but still watchable because the dude from the wire is in it.

I thought the Bourne series was pretty well done, especially the first one.

Also, Im not sure I should trust your opinions anymore since you actually watched a twilight movie

I like the bourne stuff also.  this was just like a hybrid ripoff of it that's all.  movies are subjective yo.

Last weekend I watched the worst movie I have EVER seen:  "The Men Who Stare At Goats" GAWDAWFUL!  I felt truly sorry and embarassed for Jeff Bridges and Kevin Spacey, but found it truly befttining the Clooney was in it since all he seems to make are bombs.  I know I fell asleep a few times so I'm sure this was a worse experience than I am letting on...

I thought men who stare at goats was pretty good, not great.  just pretty good.  the cloud bursting thing is funny as hell.  plus it's hard not to dig spacey and bridges.  they're fairly amazing no matter how crappy the movie.

Scott Pilgrim vs The World

I'm not a big fan of film adaptations of comic books, but this version really worked. Sure, it's a geek fest and appeals to two video game generations, but these aspects only add to its wild originality and layered humour. It's also a pretty good love story. Too bad it's not doing well at the box office, but the film will not appeal to anyone not familiar with Space Invaders right up to Nintendo, or anyone who doesn't like strange served with originality. I love that Pilgrim is an unabashed love letter to Toronto, albeit in winter, which distracted me somewhat, but director Edgar Wright got it all right - it helped that it was shot in T.O. and featured local actors Michael Cera and Ellen Wong. I laughed through most of the 90 minutes and given how fast-paced and edited it is, I think I'll enjoy Pilgrim more on the second viewing.

Id agree with this. I thought based on the previews and cast it wouldve been great, but once people saw it I tempered my expectations and came away thinking it was decent. More screentime for Bridges and Spacey wouldve helped.

Anyone else see that Bridges is reprising John Wayne's role in a remake of True Grit?

saw The Other Guys today and was supremely dissapointed.  Not even the gram of kush before hand could save that movie.  Will Ferrell has definitely been sliding down the depth chart for me with these past few movies.

I would totally agree with you except Step Brothers is all kinds of awesome and probably his best movie period (for me at least)

Did Ferrell write the other guys? I'm pretty sure the director is the guy who made turner and hooch.  Step Brothers I thought was weak only because of John C. Reily.   His entire comedy thing is almost like he's pretending to be Will Ferrell.  Riding his coat tails comedically so to speak.  I think John C. Reily is a great actor when he wants to be (Magnolia) but man, his comedy movies bug me.  that new one Cyrus does look sort of funny tho...

Old School, Anchorman to me are Will's high points.  He's done some hilarious cameo's.  He was hilarious in the Lady's Man movie, but that's old school will ferrell.

Watching Snatch. God, I forgot how fucking great this movie is.

I got a chance to watch the other guys last night and it was better than I thought it would be after reading murph's review.  There were some undeniably funny parts and some completely stupid parts.  I watched part of it and took a break halfway thru tho, a little too long.  Will Ferrell's character was awesome in this movie, I think that's where I disagree with Murph.  Will Ferrell's secret life, his hot ass wife, and the reasoning behind it I thought was hilarious.

Or the scene where Vic tells Tony to cut up the dog to get the diamond out calmly and Tony hesitant about hurting a little dog even though he has no qualms about blowing your head off.
