I'm not normally a fan of compilations (unless they are mixes from the good peeps on this board), but this is great; had listen to all of disc one and part of disc 2 in the car on the way in to work this morning.  Could be the soundtrack to my Spring...
The trouble with the straight and the narrow is it's so thin, I keep sliding off to the side

el_chode

I really wanted this as soon as it came out, but then I saw that itunes has it as full of DRM and I don't like using Amazon's store, so I'm gonna have to wait.
I'm surrounded by assholes

Really digging the New Pornographers on disc 2 this evening.

Haven't really listened to it that much, but The National's one and Yo la tengo are my early favourites

I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

"yea he dreams in the daytime too!"

Here's a vote for that gorgeous Bon Iver tune...

I am officially mancrushin' on this dude's voice and talent.

;)

My favorite track is Dirty Projectors with David Byrne, good way to kick things off. I guess I need to look into them some more. I also like: Decemberists, Yeasayer, the couple songs Feist is on, Sharon Jones. The Iron & Wine song is too short. I need to listen some more.
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

I thought the first 7 songs were great.

After tightrope it really falls off (with the exception of I was Young When I Left Home by the bro's from the National).

After El Caporal I didn't like anymore songs until I cam across Lua. That song started out so fantastic and then of course that whiny pussy Bright Eyes had to ruin the song. And yes, I know he wrote the song, but he should have let the chic sing the entire thing.

That song is one of my favorites on the compilation, and the original if from one of the best folk rock albums of the last decade IMO.   Did you really just call him a whiny pussy and compliment his songwriting all in the same paragraph?

Yes, I did just that. He is a good song writer but I cannot stand his voice. I hate singers who have that whiny tone in their voice.

Very cool, thanks for posting that.

A. It's awesome to tie your keys to your shoelaces for a percussion instrument.

B. Bon Jovi is kicking themselves in the ass for never pulling off that keyboard effect.

Ha, yes that was great!   And how about the chicken sound effects.  It's like a a "foul" seamus.
