Actually saw this tour in 84, with Count Floyd and everything. Don't forget the lyrics.  8-)

The Weapon (Part II of Fear)

We've got nothing to fear -- but fear itself?
Not pain, not failure, not fatal tragedy?
Not the faulty units in this mad machinery?
Not the broken contacts in emotional chemistry?

With an iron fist in a velvet glove
We are sheltered under the gun
In the glory game on the power train
Thy kingdom's will be done

And the things that we fear are a weapon to be held against us...

He's not afraid of your judgement
He knows of horrors worse than your Hell
He's a little bit afraid of dying
But he's a lot more afraid of your lying

And the things that he fears are a weapon to be held against him...

Can any part of life be larger than life?
Even love must be limited by time
And those who push us down that they might climb
Is any killer worth more than his crime?

Like a steely blade in a silken sheath
We don't see what they're made of
They shout about love, but when push comes to shove
They live for the things they're afraid of

And the knowledge that they fear is a weapon to be used against them...

Ya know, as such a big Rush fan, I've never read any Rand.  Must put it on my to do list.  If I'm to read just one, is Atlas Shrugged the one?

NICE.  Now I'm wishing they had busted this song out instead of Digital Man during the last tour.   Or.... they could have dropped Entre Nous and Mission and added The Weapon and New World Man for a nice little Signals redux.

Dropped Mission?  Surely you jest?

It's not that I didn't enjoy it.  I actually listened to the S&A live CD after I posted that, and it was better than I remembered it.   But it was weird to transition from that to Freewill.   New World Man would have been better is all I'm saying... and when have they played that last?  I'm guessing it was in the 80's.

I saw them do New World Man in 2002, it was the 3rd song on the set during the Vapor Trails Tour.

Ruckus---i can't believe you haven't read her. my favorite author ever i think. i would recommend  fountainhead THEN Atlas Shrugged. Whenever i hear a Rush song i try to imagine what N Peart was thinking if he wrote it...was he thinking about dagny taggart or howard roark ...(tracy, i know i ruined this thread for ya)  :o I can't help it. Does N Peart still keep up w/his traveling blog? Think we were posting about that on one of the many Rush threads
