oh right i did know the answer to that one, but since i've only been getting on the computer once a day early in the morning, i had no chance to be on and answer it in time.

here's my question:

why can't i think of a good question?

JacketGal

You guys and gals are good. I thought I knew a thing or two about music - apparently not!  :P

Did anyone answer the Mamasan trilogy?
Alive~ Once~ Footsteps

Oh how I love Footsteps!
But seein you feels good, and its always understood.
That anything much sweeter would make me die.

QuoteHere's a pretty basic one:

What school did the founding members of the Talking Heads meet at?

Was it in Michigan? I have no clue but Ann Arbor came to mind.

Not Michigan JacketGirl--think East
Sittin' here with me and mine.  All wrapped up in a bottle of wine.

QuoteName the man who's the common link between these bands:

Breeders
The Hold Steady
Dinosaur Jr.
Drive-By Truckers
Sonic Youth

I really want to know the answer to this one.  Can we get some hints or something.

Prehaps a common producer?  :-/
In another time, in another place, in another face

I can only think Jim O'Rourke.  Because I know he does a ton of stuff and he's basically a member of Sonic Youth.
There's Still Time.........

dragonboy

Yeah it's an intriguing one fo sho...

No question from Tombo? Does someone else want to put one out there? Maybe someone who hasn't posted a question yet?
It's a good idea to have a couple on the go at the same time I think.
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

The Big Come Up

K, DB, I gotta question, and since i think there was a Stone Roses question earlier...i'll keep that going

Early in the days of the Stone Roses, after quite a lazy streak, their first producer (not our own Mr. Leckie  :)) locked the members in the recording studio until they came out with a song. What was the result?

IMO, it's one of the best songs ever.

dragonboy

Not John Leckie? He produced their S/T debut, so the song is pre Stone Roses (the album)?
Maybe I'm confusing myself...
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

dragonboy

Sally Cinnamon? That's the only song I know that isn't on the album...

tis on the album, it was just recorded before Leckie was on board. early on.

The DARK

Fools Gold maybe? Wasn't it a b-side from that era?
In another time, in another place, in another face

dragonboy

On the album & it's one of your fav songs?

The Dark has gone for Falls Gold. Nice choice Dark, what a cracking song + it does have a slightly different feel to it.
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

The Big Come Up

Nope. you guys haven't guessed the right one yet.

dragonboy

I've had my guess...maybe an A B C D?

I had to go I check. Well I never knew that he was involved!  :o

Here's where I got confused. I have the original UK release. That track wasn't (& still isn't) on the UK CDs.
