Who is the only other person to play on the Foo Fighters' first album other than Dave Growl?

Here's a hint: He also played in a super group band with David Grohl as well as Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth and Mike Mills of REM called the Backbeat band.  The band recorded the soundtrack to the Beatles biopic Backbeat.

(pulled that one off wikipedia but i thought it was a cool bit of trivia and maybe a hint for someone)

Ok, here's another hint: he's in the Gutter Twins.

God himself - Greg Dulli.
I'm not saying it's easy...walking into sweet oblivion.

I was wondering if you were ever going to check this thread.  Yes, you are correct.

Don't know if he's god, but i'm getting way into him.  I still can't believe he's from hamilton Ohio and I didn't know that/him until recently!

I just haven't been checking this thread that much - I suck at classic rock trivia.  I would've got it without the clues - Frank Black, Bob Mould, and Greg Dulli are on my Rushmore of music (I guess I need a fourth - Jim James as long as Evil Urges rocks).

The very cool thing about Dulli is that he took some of the money he initially made and invested in music clubs - some are in Cincinnati I think.  He makes a very nice living off of these clubs so he's always been able to make the music that he wants to make without the pressures of having to make an album that sells well.  His music always just clicked with me.  I vividly remember buying Gentlemen the day it came out and still listen to it often 13 or 14 years later.

Question time:  What's the given name of Frank Black/Black Francis?

I'm guessing Neil Peart for the 1st part of your question.  As far as the Beatles and med research--gonna have to think on that one.
Sittin' here with me and mine.  All wrapped up in a bottle of wine.

dragonboy

It's not Neil Peart, no. Thanks for playing Fanatic  :)

I'll give you a hint regarding the Beatles question, it involved their record label EMI...

I know Neil had a 117 piece kit at one time.  There was something about Chad Smith playing a huge kit too--is this the one you refer to Andrew?  I also remember Keith Moon posing with a gigantic (sized) drum kit once.

That's the one! I can't find the magazine I read it in right now so I'll have to post the number of pieces later...

No guesses regarding the Beatles? Maybe it was a shit question  ;D
Here you go: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computed_tomography

"The CT scanner was "the greatest legacy" of The Beatles, with the massive profits resulting from their record sales enabling EMI to fund scientific research."
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

Because he was Born In The USA? No wait...because one of Tony Soprano's right hand men plays guitar with him??

I didn't earn a question, but...

Chevy Chase was in a "bad jazz band" in college.  After he quit, the other members changed their name to what?
