I'll definitely be going to this. Probably won't be able to make the Thursday night shows (a first for this festival) but will be there for MMJ for sure. So pumped.

kydiddle

Uhm, IN! This is way too close to pass up. Come on over, Mags!

It should put MMJ before  Mule on sat night, unless MMJ is closing on sunday.  What is wakas main band night?
I read they were closing on Sunday.  Must confirm.

You're right. This is from the press release/jambase article:

Radio Woodstock and Warren Haynes present the seventh annual Mountain Jam Music Festival at Hunter Mountain, in Hunter, NY from Thursday, June 2, to Sunday, June 5, 2011. For the first time, Mountain Jam will expand to include four days of music and camping. Early bird tickets are now available at MountainJam.com. Gov't Mule will headline Mountain Jam for the seventh consecutive year on Saturday, June 3. Gov't Mule's two-set performance at Mountain Jam VII will be one of only a few select appearances for the group in 2011. My Morning Jacket will return to the festival after five years to headline on Sunday, June 5. The newly formed Warren Haynes Band, a soul-infused ensemble, will make its debut northeast festival appearance, headlining on Friday, June 2.

This line-up is strong.  What's the camping and environment like?  I'm sure Warren Haynes puts on a good festy.  This one is definitely on my radar.

It is really beautiful up there.  it is a Ski resort so you have that to access...use the bathrooms, there is a bar and food inside...but then the camping is on the Mountain which is great.  The actual venue is the best..it is a natural Hill..great views and it is really wide so it is pretty easy to get right up front...they usually have 2 stages side by side so you don't miss anything.

and they will eventually have day passes.

The venue is amazing. Really small so the walk to and from your campsite is only a few minutes. It's on a ski slope and you camp on one side of the mountain while the festival is right next to you. The weather is great (though it can get cold at night) and the only thing to worry about is a little rain. There are two main stages that alternate acts all day long so you don't have any overlapping sets for main acts. Smaller acts also play an indoor stage and another acoustic stage at times.

And Day Passes will certainly be available. They usually go on sale at a later date.

Really great festival. Great lineup.

bluesky

YAHOO!!! Brooke if the day passes happens it's you and me babe!
