when you start an auction at .01 and set a reserve, you're a lot more likely to get several interested parties bidding on the item, you increase interest in the item.  It's human (auction) nature to carried away in a bidding war.

Doesn't naming the reserve price in the details sort of defeat this? Or am I still confused? Also, thanks for the info regarding the eBay fees. Never knew that

bottom line... lets hope the seller remembers to report every penny of that income he just made to the IRS come tax time. Would hate to see him get audited. Seems like a lot of these poster sellers and ebay people seem to forget that its all taxable income that must be reported. Although I have this feeling that a few people in the poster selling community might soon be in for a rude awakening...

wow-nice feeler thread you have started here.  You found out which posters people were intersted in, then instead of selling them to anyone here you proceeded to put them up on ebay and came back here to direct traffic to your auctions.  Good job!
