and Dave Grohl BETTER be chewing gum when they perform. i just love that.

Oh I forgot about this...

I can't wait to see Foo Fighters. Dave Grohl is the man on so many levels. Dude just loves rock and roll and that's it. Dammit he kicks ass!

I forget if I mentioned this or not so I'll say it again: My radio show in college was "I Sold My Soul for David Grohl" where the whole point was to get him to call in to my radio show so I could give him an award for being "the man".  It was going quite well until I got booted from school

SOOOOOOOOOOOOO, I might try to make this festival happen for me. I can't stop thinking about it.

What's the closest aiport? The site mentions the Mobile Regional Airport first, so I thought that might be the closest...but a lot of people seem to be flying in from Pensacola. Any advice?

tdb810

We are flying from Jersey into Pensacola. Seemed like more flights were available into there for us.  From my understanding, we are about 30 mins from Gulf Shores.
Can't wait! Keepnus posted on your plans apeskies!

You'll probably get better rates to P'Cola and you'll also get the pleasure of visiting the finest place on Earth.  If you don't mind a little drive (3 to 4 hours) - I know that Southwest flies to Birmingham and that new airport by Panama City.  Flight prices seem to be sooooo much better if Southwest offers service.
I'm not saying it's easy...walking into sweet oblivion.

Just booked a place a mile away from the stages after days of looking for something reasonable.  There really aren't a lot places available that are close.  Anyway, anyone that was there last year, what can we expect?  When do the tunes usually get cranking during the day?

Make arrangements to rent a beach cruiser for the weekend and that mile will be nothing.  Plus, there are few things more enjoyable than riding bikes on the beach.
side note:  you may also want to invest in a bike lock...

Can't wait.. the days down here are warm and the weather is okay so the "weeks go by like days"

Not a day goes by that I don't think of some other reason why that week is not going to kick ass on so many levels!

so i heard Carl is going to kick off the festival on the beach with a sweet rendition of The National Anthem ala Jimi Hendrix-style.

And everyone is gonna have their daiquiris in the air for a toast!

Just kiddin'..... but a man can dream!

Mofro is the big addition for me....this is kind of their home turf and they will tear that beach up.  Grace is always a great addition.
