they cannot put jacket and the lips opposite each other.  there is no way they would do that right?
i really don't think it's gonna happen

i think the stage setup will make it possible.. there are two near equally sized stages facing each other on the beach.. those are the main two stages i believe.. if mmj could play their set and then the headliner for the night starts up right behind them after it's over

That's definitely possible. I really hope that MMJ gets to close out the smaller main stage  instead of the big stage before the closing act though. That would give them a less constricted set.

Last year the Roots and Allison Krauss got to play seemingly longer on the smaller main stage than the others who played on the same stage as the closers.

Judging by the "Circuital Appearing Live!" sub-header on the homepage, I can't wait to hopefully get a set with the whole album played through and through!! Either stage would give them plenty time for that  Maybe they'll fill the time remaining with beach-themed covers  8)

Alabama has also banned malt liquor and lottery. So no ghetto barbecues either.

Sleep!? Who plans on sleeping that weekend!!?? Especially now that I can't huff my N20   ::)

Hangout owner Shaul Zislin said Tuesday that he hoped the issue could be resolved, and added that bands play until 10 p.m. on the establishment's main stage, then move to a smaller stage and play until 2 a.m., Zislin said.
"We feel very strongly that we're in the entertainment district and more liberal guidelines should be allowed in our area," Zislin said. "It's so important for a resort area to provide content for the visitors. Not every vacationer wants to go to sleep. It's their vacation time."

i hope that's not so about the 10pm stop for music on the big stages.. i'm kind of optimistic they'll win the battle on the noise ordnance issue by the time the fest starts

Yeah that would not be cool.

From facebook:
QuoteHere is some additional information that hasn't been posted on the website yet:

The Hangout will host 2 late-night stages Friday and Saturday night of the festival. A 3,000 capacity Hangout Late-Night Tent will host sets by Bassnectar and Pr...etty Lights – who will both perform additional sets during the main Hangout festival event. A second Hangout Late-Night Stage is located within the Hangout Restaurant. All shows begin at midnight.

Performing Friday, May 20th in the Hangout Late Night Tent is Bassnectar with special guest Beats Antique. Tickets are $25 for Hangout Festival ticket buyers, $30 regular price, and $35 day of show.

Performing Saturday, May 21st in the Hangout Late Night Tent is Pretty Lights. Tickets are $25 for Hangout Festival ticket buyers, $30 regular price, and $35 day of show.

Performing Saturday, May 21st on the Hangout Late Night Stage is Tony Clifton and The Katrina Kiss-My-Ass Orchestra. Tickets are $30 for Hangout Festival ticket buyers, $35 regular price, and $40 day of show.

Confirmation of that big tent makes me feel a little better. This means the larger Hangout Late Night Tent set is still unannounced for Saturday.
EDIT: you're right ewind, I misread....so much for that idea  :P

I'm sorry.  I must have missed why this was funny.  Do you in all your 20 year old wisdom assume that no minorities view this forum also?

"Organizers also announced the addition of a kids' stage all three days of the festival, anchored by alt-rock hitmakers the Verve Pipe, who will release their first children's album this year, on May 21 and 22. Other kids' stage attractions include the School of Rock All-Stars, the Baby Grands and Peter DiStefano & Tor."

I AM SO THERE!! I remember Verve Pipe from college...when WE were only freshmen

I'm sure there was no ill intent in the statement, Ruckus. There's no rule about ghettos, malt liquor or the lottery, I believe they are enjoyed by all races...aren't they? What do I know...I'm not in my 20s. ;D

I get ya (s)allie but we all get the implication.  My thing is, hey we all say dumb shit in the confines of our own social groups that is understood in context by those around us.  I'm sure a number of forum members share that same sentiment written above and that's OK.  It's just that this place is a very civil place that continually avoids the typical trappings of internet message boards because of how awesome the people are.  And I KNOW that the above comment rubbed more than just me the wrong way.  Done and done.

Back to complaining about the price of late night show ticket prices.    ;D >:( :o

check the website...the daily schedule is out now...no times but widespread panic is listed first friday followed by MMJ...definitely confirmed for friday....not sure if that means they are gonna play before panic or on another stage around the same time...my guess is since panic is considered a headliner they will be playing the slot right before...gets me pretty stoked...can't wait for all of you fine folks to get to bama!

Sheesh Seth!  Ya know I posted it above already right talking bout the Verve Pipe and stuff.  I like it so far as I don't see any major conflicts for me at all.  What do you think about the rest?  For me, only the Lips and Jacket are MUST sees.  After that, I'm pretty flexible though I think Rival Sons and MMW are kinda musts for me.

Looking forward to coming down as well.  I'll be rockin' my frog toboggan with matching Crimson Tide and Tigers gear. ::)
