2. "Mahgeetah"

We think Urban Dictionary's definition for Mahgeetah says it all.

Mahgeetah

One of the most bad ass songs in the history of mankind. With a kickass solo at the end. And just when you think it's over, it comes back and kicks ass again.

Mahgeetah is great on It Still Moves, but it's even better live.

Nice find, KY.  Hot off the presses.  Not a bad list, but not my top 20 either.

The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

Oooh, nice one, thanks for sharing!  :)

pretty good except no Dondante.

Obviously people aren't going to agree on top 20, but this was my beef too. No Dondante is insane, and personally no steam is a little crazy.
don't rock bottom, just listen just slow down...

Honest Man

Not a bad list. I'm sure us die hard's would beg to differ a bit though. I agree
no dondante, no steam engine is insane.

The fact that my hearts beating, is all the proof you need.

big hungry joe

decent list, although i don't get some of those picks over steam engine.

my top 10:

10: lowdown
9: hopefully
8: run thru
7: lay low
6: bermuda highway
5: phone went west
4: sooner
3: steam engine
2: mahgeeta
1: x-mas curtain

I took care of the steam engine omission through one of the most insightful and thought-provoking comments ever posted on the Internet.

I think it deserves priority over Dondante if only because Steam Engine's album and live version are both as moving. I think Dondante, while good on the album, isn't as strong in the studio take as Steam Engine is. I don't know if I can choose between them for live though

The first thing I thought as well was.... no Steam Engine or Dondante? Those 2 might be in my top 5 let alone top 20. It's hard to take 2 songs out of the list to replace, but I'd probably go with I Think I'm Going To Hell and Evelyn.
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

You and your T5 vinyl box set.  Now the rumors and confusion will fly!  Nice comment.  I wholeheartedly agree, though someone else there bemoans the poor showing of Evil Urges tracks on the list.  Just goes to show, to each their own, except- of course- for Steam Engine.  There should be no discussion.  Dondante, too, is far better than any EU track, IMHO.

I think highly suspicious is one of their best songs though. Librarian gave me chills the first time I heard it, and the smokin > touch me is as good as anything.

I think the real problem with EU is the mixing of the album

Any list, especially a magazine/music site, etc, that is going to be less personal, more rational, is pretty off its rocker IMO if Steam, Dondante, and Phone arent all in the Top 10 let alone the Top 20. Overall not a bad list, top 10 is hard to argue with except Anytime that high is a surprise to me.

I don't get the lack of love for EU, it's coucou! I agree with Jeff, it would have been nice to see Smokin From Shootin on there. I also think it's a disaster not to include Steam Engine and Dondante, but I also miss The Bear and Bermuda Highway.

really should have been a top 50 list. Seriously, how did they think just 20 would cut it?
At my house, we call them uh-ohs.

Pkyankfan

For me Dondante and Steam Engine would be top 5... Bermuda Highway, One In the Same, Phone Went West, and Dancefloors are also absent.

Still a cool list though

i am currently, and have been for the past year and a half, absolutely obsessed with anytime.  it is a perfect rock n roll song.
out go the lights it begins

Kenny76

the order isn't important, but I would replace:
X-Mas Curtain
O is the One That is Real
Heartbreakin Man
Off the Record
What a Wonderful Man

with:
Steam Engine
Dondante
Honest Man
Hopefully
Dancefloors

maybe Rollin' Back should be in there too.

Steam Engine is the defining MMJ song, in my opinion. A  snorgasm classic.
