I'm looking at hotels and am poor. I'm looking in places not directly downtown I guess, but don't know how far the public transportation goes. Are any of these places acceptable to get to the Jacket show without a car by public transportation and/or cab?

O'Hare, Midway, Northlake, Des Plaines, Chinatown, Rosemont, Franklin Park,  Elk Grove, Bedford Park, Wooddale, Schiller Park, Mount Prospect, Bridgeview, Rivergrove, Itasca?

Any help would be tight.
don't rock bottom, just listen just slow down...

Well, since there is no mention yet of the Hollywood show, and special tickets are going to us MMJ fans, can I assume if I buy my two tickets tomorrow at noon, I will be up front center?

Are you averse to the idea of a hostel?  There's one literally blocks from the theater.

Evanston is probably your best option otherwise.
if it falls apart or makes us millionaires

CTA Blue Line runs trains from downtown to O'Hare 24 hours a day.
Airport station is the end of the line, but most of the O'Hare area hotels are closer to the Rosemont stop right before. Taxis are usually available outside the station.

As far as the other suburbs you listed, check the Metra schedules.

Metra MD-W line stops in Franklin Park, Wooddale and Itasca.
Last Train on Friday leaves Union Station @ 12:40am.

Metra UP-NW line stops in Des Plaines and Mount Prospect.

Cab from the Auditorium to Chinatown is maybe $17.
Cab from any of the other suburbs listed will be at least $35.

Hope this helps, reply with any other questions.
