Red Rocks/JacketFestWest 2011

I'm stopping in St. L for my bday then flying to Denver for Flips and MMJ. Gonna be a great week!

Denver peeps... Whats a good place to stay for 2 nights if hitting RR. I guess since I'm not really spending time in Denver I might as well get close to the mountains. I'm only gonna be there the days of the shows and then catchin a bus up to Boulder to visit friends. Anyways, what area of town is close to RR and cheap, or reasonable? Thanks!

@ Crispy. My girlfriend and I are traveling up your way Tuesday August 2nd. We're looking for a place to stay while we're in Boulder. We're gonna jump on the party bus at 5pm. Hopefully we show up early enough for good seats.

Just heard that Amos Lee is opening for MMJ at Red Rocks.

He is an awesome, talented singer songwriter with 4 really good albums. Mellow, but really talented guy.

Amos is also opening up for Lucinda Williams on many of her tour dates this summer. She has a duet with him on his new album.

Wow, I'm totally late on the RR roll call train! The hubby and I have our tix. We are coming into town on the 3rd but are still on the fence for TFL/primus show. We will at least be tailgating that day and would love to meet some more fans! We hung out a bit with crispy and a few others in '08 and have been trying to hook up with AMD since Telluride in '07. Is anyone camping at Indian paintbrush campground at Bear creek lake? I think that's where we'll be crashing.

Looking at Red Rocks ticket sales, you can still get a pair for MMJ on row 44 reserved, out of rows 25-60 which are the reserved. Flaming Lips is now selling row 60 plus GA, Soundgarden is sold out of reserved rows, but some GA are available. Avett Bros./Grace Potter is sold out of everything.

So I think good tickets for MMJ will be available all summer, but last time they played at RR it looked pretty full. Of course, if Circuital gets traction on the radio, that will accelerate sales.

thats good, because i have friends that are really lolly gagging around with tickets. If they end up missing out on F'Lips tickets I may be trying to hang with some forum folks

So I think I mentioned before that my national sales meeting is during the same week as this in FL. It turns out my last day there (morning sessions) is the same day as the show. We are not supposed to book flights out before 3pm. Major bump in the road. I had to ask my manager for approval to leave early & she agreed! Best part is that I was able book my flight this morning from ft lauderdale direct to Denver. Leave FL at 7:30am & arrive in Denver at 9:30. The company pays the cost of whatever my roundtrip would be from jersey so I only end up having to eat about $100. I might even be able to expense that too.
