I'm sure most of you on here are fans of Radiohead. I have only seen them once in concert and my wife and I really want to go to another show. I like the new album. I even pre-ordered the vinyl edition. I'm sure this will happen but....Will they ever go on tour this year? They seem to want us to wait....but I'm dyin' here....

Anyone else waiting for them to tour?

tour dates are still iffy.  nobody knows whats going on with them right now.  (From Ateaseweb.com): http://www.ateaseweb.com/2011/03/24/radiohead-to-issue-newspaper-the-universal-sigh-on-monday/

Radiohead to issue Newspaper 'The Universal Sigh' on Monday

QuoteRadiohead will not only release their 8th album 'The King Of Limbs' on Monday, but also a newspaper and a website; The Universal Sigh.

When Radiohead announced their new album, The King Of Limbs, on February 14, they said it was going to be the first newspaper album. The actual Newspaper album will not arrive till early May, but Radiohead are set to issue a Newspaper on the date of the physical retail release: Monday March 28. In some countries (i.e. The Netherlands), the record will be out on Friday March 25 and in other countries (USA, Canada) on Tuesday March 29.

Fans will be able to acquire a newspaper made by the band. The newspaper will be distributed in many capital cities (and several other locations) around the world. Radiohead have produced a newspaper which will be given away, free, gratis, without cost to the consumer by accredited vendors from a multitude of locations WORLDWIDE!

In the USA, in the Netherlands, in Belgium, Poland, Germany, Austria, in the Czech Republic, in Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Ireland, France, Italy, Slovakia, Finland, Greece, Norway, Lithuania, Estonia, Russia, Australia, Latvia, Iceland, Romania, New Zealand, the UK and a load of other places around the globe, our dedicated teams of newspaper delivery people will be handing out copies of THE UNIVERSAL SIGH to anyone who wants one, until we run out!

In conjunction with this unbelievable offer, Radiohead have established THE UNIVERSAL SIGH as a website on the internet, where details of your nearest vendor can be found, as well as more informations and a photogallery where we will be posting photos and the lucky owners of the gratis tabloid are invited to post pictures of themselves and their friends reading the newspaper in locations diverse and unusual.

The band state that there will be other stuff too, "but we haven't thought of it yet." But, just in case you were wondering: This newspaper IS NOT the newspaper that accompanies the Newspaper Album version of The King of Limbs. This event WILL NOT be repeated. This event IS NOT a live performance by Radiohead.

The event will be all around the world as a website will be operational which will host photos of people who have obtained the newspaper, The Universal Sigh, as photos will appear on www.theuniversalsigh.com.

Radiohead will measure the carbon footprint of this project, and to offset the potential ecological impact we will retire the carbon credits used. Carbon Retirement is the most effective method of offsetting, because it is the only way you can be 100% sure that the emission reduction you pay for will take place.

I preordered the vinyl on their website. And It sucks that I live hours away from anywhere where they will be giving those papers out.

nah, I pre-ordered the mp3s but didn't get any of the cool packages.  have you heard about these two new songs they're releasing on April 16th?

Im The Dude

I don't get the whole album.  To me, it sounds more like a Thom Yorke solo project.  I'm not sure I've got the heart to give it another chance.  :(
The trouble with the straight and the narrow is it's so thin, I keep sliding off to the side

ChiefOKONO

I liked it but thought it was too short and a bit too mellow.  Eventually i decided I thought that the last one is better.
I also have been listening to the Eraser and to me it sounds more like radiohead than solo

Sticky Icky Green Stuff

here's an early version of Supercollider:
Thom Yorke - Super Collider at the Orpheum 10/5/09

The King Of Limbs has grown on me a bit.  I think it's the starting point of a lot more songs.  I might just be stoned but I think The King of Limbs is the trunk of the tree and I'm betting their going to keep releasing EPs, singles, etc over the next year.  Thom Yorke has said over and over in interviews that he is pretty tired of doing LP's.  he says "they're too much work".  Thom's plan seems to be holding true to some degree in that regard.  Now they have their own studio, can leak their own material, etc.

On the new album there are a lot of little things that I think are deliberately taken from the past.  Some of the beats remind of "The Gloaming",  I think it's the last track that they go all the back to tones and effects they used on the song Planet Telex.   In the newspaper the first article is "I Froze Up".  which is another unreleased tune:

thom yorke - cambridge, 25.feb.2010 - i froze up

they're too pretentious to not have something else in store.  they're not known as one of the most innovative bands in the history of recorded music because they're predictable.  who knows what they'll do tho, just speculating.

here's the mp3s for that show above.  the setlist is really bizarre.  lots of rarities and quite a few of the early version of songs from The King Of Limbs:

01. The Clock
02. The Eraser
03. Weird Fishes
04. The Daily Mail  (Unreleased)
05. Pyramid Song
06. Harrowdown Hill
07. Lotus Flower
08. Give Up The Ghost
09. These Are My Twisted Words (first time played solo, second time played live.. I think..)
10. I Froze Up  (Unreleased/Rare Performance)
11. Like Spinning Plates
12. Black Swan
13. Cymbal Rush
14. Videotape
15. Mouse Dog Bird (Now known as "Separator")
16. Reckoner
17. Airbag  (fucking awesome.)
18. Atoms For Peace
19. True Love Waits

sticky,
thats an awesome upload...I will download it. I know what you mean about releasing EPs and singles over the next several months. I love this band. I hope we get a tour this summer. I'd travel to see them just like I would with My Morning Jacket. "I froze up" I have a copy of that from a web cast from early 2000's which they did a cover of "Winter Wonderland".

And yes, it has grown on me. I can not wait for my copy to come in the mail. I have no idea what it's going to look like but I can't wait to hear it on my record player.

I remember that for sure.  Is it from "gigantic lying mouth" or something else?  can't remember.  here's an early magpie version for anybody who hasn't heard it:

Radiohead - Morning m'lord or good morning Mr Magpie
