This is quite different from the rest of his albums. But not really unexpected in my opinion.

Ya he apparently said the sound was way different and would alienate some of his fans. Still love Tim but don't think this album is for me.

After about a week and a bunch of listens I can honestly say I am a fan of the album. Lots of layers and great production. Although... not a huge fan of the distorted vocals.

Right there with you.  It took a few listens, especially as a whole album, to get into it, as it is a pretty big change in sound.  It's going to be interesting to see how these songs come across live.
