Jeff Tweedy/TWEEDY was damn fuckin good last night!!

I've seen Wilco a bunch but always wanted to see one of those solo acoustic Jeff Tweedy shows, which is what I thought I was getting when I bought these tickets. Instead though I got the best of both: Saw TWEEDY play most if not all of their upcoming album. It was all good, really good. And then a set of just Jeff Tweedy on acoustic, some songs with harmonica, play some Wilco favorites: Via Chicago, Jesus, etc, I am Trying to Break Your Heart, Hummingbird etc., Then the band came back for 2-3 more, including California Stars!!, and then again Jeff came back alone and did Misunderstood at the front of the stage with no mics!

Plus it was at The beautiful Brown Theater where the sound is fantastic. And the crowd was very well behaved and there was a No Camera policy, which I really appreciate in seated dark theaters.

very wonderful show!!!

Anyway, here was the complete setlist — as played — for Louisville:

Down From Above*
Diamond Light*
Honey Combed*
Flowering*
Desert Bell*
Summer Noon*
Fake Fur Coat#
World Away*
New Moon*
High As Hello*
Where My Love*
Slow Love*
Nobody Dies Anymore*
Via Chicago^
I Am Trying To Break Your Heart^
New Madrid^
Pecan Pie^
No More Poetry^
You And I^
Hummingbird^
Laminated Cat (aka Not For The Season)^
The Ruling Class^
Passenger Side^
Jesus, etc.^
-------------------------
Give Back The Key To My Heart* [Doug Sahm]
Low Key* (w/Scott McCaughey on keyboard)
California Stars* (w/Scott McCaughey on keyboard)
--------------------------
Misunderstood^ (performed at edge of stage w/o PA system)

* — w/full TWEEDY band
# — w/Jim Elkington only
^ — Jeff solo acoustic

Yes. Last night ruled. I have seen Wilco 5 times I think, but that was my first "solo" show. Jeff is such a great entertainer! I will say that last night was probably the most fun show I've seen of a musician doing a solo set (counting only the 2nd half).

You and I ruled.  Thats one of my favorite songs off of W(TA). Passenger Side, New Madrid, GBTKTMH, and Via Chicago were other highlights. And, of course, Misunderstood: one of my all time favorite Wilco songs, and one of my all time favorite record opening songs from any band. On top of that, Tweedy's humor on stage is killer.

Loved the show from start to finish.
don't rock bottom, just listen just slow down...

It's totally cool. Thanks very much for posting the two videos. I could watch and listen to Jeff sing/play all day. The guy is a genius.

The ACL ticket lottery link went live today. Good luck, everyone!

No doubt. So far everything I've heard has been great. I love that he is doing this. The last two Wilco album while good, sounded or felt a little bloated, these songs do not. That's not to say they sound simple either, I can't explain it.

This one was just released earlier today and is also great - http://www.stereogum.com/1691753/tweedy-wait-for-love/mp3s/

I really like the songs I've heard so far from the Tweedy album.  I really enjoyed The Whole Love (especially Art of Almost, One Sunday Morning, and Dawned On Me), but half of the album fell a little short.  Here's to hoping the rest of this album stays strong.

Also, isn't Wilco supposed to be putting out a record sometime in the near future?

it appears like MMJ things got in the way and early 2015 is the date set... plus they have already said a full fledged tour in 2015.

Exactly right, that's just the top 13 on my list.  And I think I know which record I need to spin right now...

I'm enjoying these lists

So am I. I only allowed myself 5-10mins to compile mine last night as I tend to overthink these things and always end up with a huge list of songs that becomes impossible to pare down.

It's amazing how the list can change from day-to-day. I'm listening to "Being There" right now and can't believe I didn't include "Far, Far Away"

May have been hard to write but it was really easy to read and enjoy!
Can you keep it simple? Can you let the snare crack? Can you let it move without holding back?

Wilco is pretty much the reason I'm going. Shows number 7 & 8 for me. I also can't wait!
