my buddy scored our tix about 3 minutes after they went on sale.  Luckily we were able to secure the last row in the building

feel bad for all you folks who are going to have people behind you.  heh heh

they say the venue isn't too large though so we should be just fine

and...atleast we won't have any NARCS behind us

Ho-ly crap. Must be the most beautiful venue we've ever played. Catching up w/ @mymorningjacket before soundcheck @Pantages #mindblowing

I know this show is a benefit show and they have a shorter setlist during benefit shows.. is that true?

no.  i think they're just working with local charities for each show on the tour.
Last nights show was a benefit.   This is a regular MMJ show

What? No webcast? From La-La-Land???

Very nice, but I can't help but be bummed he did the LA poster and isn't doing the Portland Edgefield poster...

Any hoo, word on the street is that they played The Bear tonight!

ms. yvon

way to make a great showing tonight, los angeles & environs!  i met some cool people at blue palms before the show (walterfredo, i fear i showed up too late to see you.  hope you dug it!).  and even though we'd all bought tix separately, chief okonokos, mm tube top, her pals and i were all in consecutive rows on the same aisle.  dance party USA!

this was a FANTASTIC show!

tonight's annotated setlist:

--victory dance: HUGE
--circuital:  gorgeous! gold!
--day is coming: just drew some hearts next to this one  ;D
--wordless chorus: beautiful presentation!
--off the record

--touch me pt 2
--first light: funk 'splosion
--you wanna freak out: another heart drawn here...
during this song there was a guy dancing up the aisle from the front all the way past my row.  great fun to watch

--the bear!!
-jim banter re: the architecture of the pantages.
--wonderful
--outta my system: bells intro, green spot light on jim, carl head banging at the pedal steel, gorgeous lights!
-at this point i noticed that the zipper on my shorts was down.  ::) don't know if it had been like that for awhile, or just a dancing situation...
--lay low!!: carl swinging, straight into...
--i'm amazed :)
--slow slow tune: gorgeous blue wash and spot lights: "you decide the pace, you set the tone..."
--moving away: another heart drawing "oh, new life to create...won't forget the ones i left behind...
(love these two songs back to back.)
--carried away!!

**gonna stop trying to decipher my notes right now and just get the list up**
--gideon
--holding on to black metal: featuring the black metal chorus, los angeles chapter!
--anytime
--one big holiday
_______
-band comes back out.  jim compliments the crowd for being so supportive. -->
--steam engine
--smokin from shootin
--end of run thru
--mahgeetah

ok.  one last note:  steam engine. i wrote: BEAUTIFUL EPIC.  this was one for the books. don't know what might have been different, but hearing this song, at this show tonight was...well, i also wrote this: LIFE ALTERING  ;D

i hadn't really kept a set list since before T5.  it was really fun.  there are a bunch of scrawled notes re: stellar moves being thrown down by the band, but i don't want to decipher them all tonight.

for kicks, here is a pic of my set list.  for anyone out there who might wonder what these look like:

Non Sin Breaux

My train made me late to the show by 2 songs. Car drove off Bridge. : (

The show was good. The Bear, Anytime, and the encore Songs were my highlights.

Felt like it was missing a Power Song in the middle like Dondante or Phone Went West.

Ran to get a Beer when they played Outta My System but they just sold out.

The venue itself is very hot on the inside but amazing views everywhere. Great Light Show.

(I think) They played every song tonight off Circuital tonight with No Highly Suspicious or Golden was to be found.

BTW- What was the song that Carl sang lead vocals on?

that was "carried away." it's on his solo record, "all birds say."  mmj played it at several shows last spring/summer.  (great album!  perfect for summer, too  )

awesome ms. yvon, love the setlist notes!

Maybe your shorts zipper being down is actually the first step to having your panties rocked off?! Just a thought!

Man these setlists are making me jealous...
At my house, we call them uh-ohs.

Ms Y!  Thank you for your dilligence!  That setlist looks fantastic, and love all of your notes! That's a keeper!
and...the BEAR!!!!  aaaaaaaah!
.....Back at the Model Home

Great review Ms. Y.

Thanks for keeping notes and passing them on to us.

Gotta love the aisle dancer "freakin out".
"Where's Jim going?"

Crispy

Great notes, ms y, and what a show!! The Bear!!! It seems the boys have been busting out at least one Super Gem for each show lately, and I think Carried Away might come close to that. I wish I could go to every show, but I especially wish I had been able to make this Dance Party, and rock it with you and the Chief and MM Tube Top again!

I thought to myself at the Chicago show that I wish I had been taking ms y-style notes for all of the moments that I had -- but I was able to remember most and put them down as I listened to the recording.

Keep an eye on that barn door -- I think ralph had it right!  ;D
"...it's gonna be great -- I mean me coming back with the band and playing all those hits again"

this show looks fantastic...can't believe it's still 2 months away to my shows...ms. y i am quite jealous of that setlist...i've never seen them give one away that was handwritten with notes...hang on to that one, it's a goodie

does it say smoking or dancefloors..it looks like it says smokin or dance to me. dancefloors into magheetah to end a show is always an epic choice...not to complain as i love smokin as well
