What is there to do for all us lowlys who aren't hitting up the sound check party? Looks like tailgating outside the venue is out of the question. I'm about to drive by the amphitheater and scope it out

So what time does MMJ usually come out?  I'm at the hotel right now and just trying to decide when I should leave.  I don't want to miss any of MMJ but don't really care if I miss some of Neko Case.

What an awesome show!! Not the longest set but it was awesome. Cobra was sweet!!! We were front row and have awesome pics. Will post in the coming week or so.
And all that ever mattered will some day turn back to batter, like a joke.

Yeah, a little ridiculous.  Jim was having fun with it. After all, he did put them in his beard. LoL!

The whole night sounds like a repeat of cincy, with dancefloors added in
don't rock bottom, just listen just slow down...

Did they plan a full version of Run Thru, or just the end?

Great & not cramped pit.  We were too close at the beginning & it sounded like shit so we moved back to take advantage of the PA speakers & smoke some bowls & it improved quickly & immensely.  What was up with the...  I'll call it a "lighthouse" effect on Jim's guitar?  It kept going in & out like an old wurlitzer.  It sounded weird & i was wondering if itt was the band or the venue.
I liked to shit em when they played Cobra.  I was just lamenting the fact that pre-It Still Moved had been ignored all night & then there was Cobra.  I love that damn song.
The ladies we pretty, the buzz was heavy.  The band sounded together & loud.  It was a fantastic night, me thinks...
O, How time flies, with crystal clear eyes.  But it's cold, it's cold, when you're ending with diamond eyes.

Actually just the middle - the words oh shit run were never sang - at least I believe.

Goldeneagle, Halesdd and I were at the soundcheck party and it was pretty awesome.  They made us (there were about 40 people) wait outside during the "technical soundcheck" but we could hear the boys play I'm Amazed, Golden, part of The way he sings and part of Cobra.  They let us in just after 4:00 and Jim told us to help anyone out who falls during the mosh pit and showed us where the medical tent was because "these things tend to get crazy."  They then played Slow Slow Tune and Patrick actually cracked a symbol during the song that had to be replaced.  They then did You wanna freak out and Out of my system (which totally kicks ass live).  We were given an autographed poster on our way out.  All in all, it was well worth the money and my wife and I had a blast!  It was great meeting Halesdd and Goldeneagle as well.

I'm glad we did soundcheck.  It was cool to have that private show kinda thing going.  Only wished it was longer.  Soccerphan, great to meet you!  Guess I missed Halesdd.  Were you wearing a Hawks jersey?  If so, I appologize for what I said behind your back.  I kind of wish I had moved back toward the lawn for a bit.  I agree with Darkglow on the pit environment.  I made a decision to step back from the rail because I knew the sound would be better.  I say rail or lawn next time.   Awesome Encore though!  Till next time round.   Peace 8)

Here is a picture of the sound check that shows how many people were there.  There were probably only 15 or so roll call members and the rest were the glit and radio winners.  I can see halesdd.  I am hidden on the rail.

I'm glad I rocked it on the rail. Jim ripped some nasty solos right in front of us. Rail had great sound quality. That was one amazing show. A little short and the setlist could have been deeper but the execution was flawless.

YES!!! Now I can hear the show without having to listen to the guy next to me talk about rocket ships and lemon meringue pie!

I feel better now...

P.S. This is the same guy who recorded the 4/20 show at the Alabama theater and he did a damn good job with that one! Can't wait to hear this one. Thanks Taylor!

My forth MMJ show and without a doubt my favorite. To the band that did save my life, I thank you!
