It's official...I am adopting the little "snapping fingers" movement the backup singers are doing. Yep.

The tooone the tooone....they nailed it! Jim's guitar sounded glorious

I like how they slowed it down and made the solo come through loud and clear.

I'm with ya Ky, let's all stand in a line and do the move. Dig.

Great energy, as always! Such a tease when it's only one song! Always leave me wanting more!

I enjoyed Denise's little frock!

I'm officially adopting the idea that every city on the tour should have girls singing back up to this tune!

Great job as always guys!

I love this idea. New girls, new moves, different outfits. Jim can choreograph their moves...

can't wait to see the footage of this one on youtube or where ever...ain't got no cable...it was interesting to read all the tweets that were coming in as they performed on conan (i monitor mmj tweets obsessively)...black metal provoked some strong reactions, lots of haters on twitter that i would love to strangle right now, but i shall digress...there were plenty of tweeters that were blown away as well

it was a ballsy song to play especially for any new audiences and that's just yet another reason why i and so many other people love this band...they don't care what anyone thinks about what they play...all those haters out there who will write mmj off because of this song can just stay in the dark as far as i'm concerned, we're better off without them

HIGH on SOUND

Maybe it was my TV, but I didn't think the sound was quite right.
Seemed like a weird mix or something.

I've heard Black Metal live now a few times so I know how good it can be.
I don't think it sounded very good tonight.

The dance moves of the backup singers were....interesting.

I keep wondering when Jim will ditch the trench coat...

It wasn't your TV.  The sound was way off.  The last part sounded better than the first part - but it was definitely off.  The boys tried to make the best of it.  Hot damn I love this band!

Jim's wardrobe has tremendous staying power. re: brown pants.

The end was much better than the beginning. Black Metal still isn't doin much for me live, but I'm sure they'll get it figured out.

Good performance of a song I still don't love, but it's far better live.

That's true. I don't think the trench coat is a flattering look for him though.
Plus it has to be so fucking hot to wear that through most of a show.

But whatever, Jim can do what he wants. I've just found the fact that he's stuck with it so long kind of surprising.

Ok. That's good I guess. I just saw people on here talking about how awesome it sounded and was like...wha??

Was anyone else slightly annoyed that MMJ camera time at the end got interrupted by Jack McBrayer?

Sound definitely was not great, but the performance was. I'm really starting to like this tune.
