I am sensing a blow out. The Heat come out tight, the Mavs are cool, calm and collected.

No blow outs so far, so

Mavs- 122
Heat- 87

Jus to remind you, they dont play til tomorrow, Cochise.

Id love it if they were playing tonight though. Hate these damn sunday night games

quite aware of when the game is kimosabe   ;)

Got Vandy on deck tonight with a trip to their first CWS on the line

yep. I used Bob's brother (Futureman) here as a reference point. He nails it at the 1:24 mark

Im usually still sleeping at this time on a sunday morning so I dont usually watch it, but why the hell is dana jacobsen on Sports Reporters?! Not only is she terrible, but Im pretty sure she's never written a column since being with ESPN. If she's a usual on this show, damn has it gone downhill.

Lebron after the loss talking about people being glad he lost:

"At the end of the day, all the people that was rooting on me to fail – at the end of the day they have to wake up tomorrow and have the same life that they had before they woke up today," James said. "They have the same personal problems they had today ...

"They can get a few days or a few months or whatever the case may be on being happy about not only myself, but the Miami Heat not accomplishing their goal, but they have to get back to the real world at some point."

Still giving it back Lebron? I hope he learns a little humility from this, but I highly doubt it.

That comment was just about as big as the Mavs winning today (which is sad), and I hated how every talking head on ESPN acknowledged it as a huge story, but said there wasnt anything wrong with it. Its almost like they took that stance bc the 4 letter network gave them a bonus for doing it. Of course he made an ass out of himself you jackholes!

Last night, Lebron had his chance to be humble, be honest, and focus on next year. Instead, he belittles the public and whatever fans he has left with a comment like that, and I honestly believe he did it to make himself feel better. Now a comment like that hits hardest in Cleveland, but I think that comment will be harder to forget this time next year than his 9pt finals decrease, most all time. Its like he relished being the villain so much this year, he could help himself from making that comment just so the Heat are the team to root against next year once again.

Now I wouldnt go to the point to say people wouldve sympathized with him after this run and his struggles, but just when he had a shot, he made a conceited dickhead athlete comment before he/the Heat even had a chance. I cant think of any other star athlete in any sport more full of himself, and it sucks, because Lebron could be really easy to like.

Lebron could be really easy to like.

Someone brought up a great point that Lebron has never had a father or a mentor or a coach or an older player, somebody who could reign him in. He's was given a lot of money and fame as a teenager (having his high school games on ESPN!) and I don't think he had a chance. I think he's too smart to go the way of Mike Tyson (plus, he's not crazy) but it seems Derick Rose and Kevin Durant got something he doesn't have. Was it the 1 year in college? Is it genetics? Who knows.

I loved watching the old timers get their nod last night and the nod to good ol' team ball.

Now, back to my miserable life    :'(

I heard that argument, but Im not sure how much weight it really holds. Ive also heard he's very close with his high school coach who basically would be that father figure. His ego got blown up more than any other high school player, but you can still see why based on his physical talent (he still looks like the same player he did 8yrs ago to me, just with more experience and better on D).

The whole college argument is really tough to gauge. You see high school guys like Kobe, Howard, Garnett achieve (but Lebron's only 26 now, were they better than him at this point?), and then there are 1 and done's like CP3, Melo, or more recent Rose and Durant. Im pretty sure Durant didnt make it to the sweet 16 his 1 year, while Rose was robbed of a championship. At this point, Id say Rose has more poise, but was that why?!

Hard to say, but if anyone wouldve been a man among boys in college, it wouldve been Lebron. All the other guys wouldve been fun to see in college, but Lebron wouldve dominated. Who knows if he gets to a final 4 of championship his 1 or 2 years, but it wouldve been fun and I definitely think it wouldve vastly helped his closeout/clutch ability.

He'd probably have more fans now as well

Ruckus

I was pulling my hair out listening to lazy analysts (Chris Webber) referring to Dallas as a bad defensive team, a result of not doing any research and just citing past reputations.  Dallas finished 10th in pts allowed and 8th in FG% against.  That's not bad at all for a team that shoots that well from three and the line.

Just as much as the Miami offense as a whole failed in key moments, the Dallas offense made three of the best defenses in the NBA look ordinary (Lakers, Blazers, and Heat).  What an amazing team performance!  In overanalyzing the deficiencies and failures of the Heat, it should be remembered that this team whupped up on the Thunder, SWEPT the Lakers and beat the Heat in 6 w/o home court advantage.  They were hands down the best team in the playoffs and it wasn't even close.

As you guys mentioned, they deserve the credit and it felt so good to see such a great TEAM win, even if they kicked my team's ass.

EDIT:  I was waiting for Dampier's single double.  Also, what the hell was Mario Chalmers doing when the little pushing match between Stevenson and Haslem happened?

And on to the lockout....
