So my team pretty much sucked this year, I was banking on the Chargers being good and they've been one of the most disappointing teams in the NFL this year. Chris Johnson's terrible start really hurt me too.
I had a chance to get the 2 seed and a bye in one of my leagues but that didn't pan out. My team was 3-4 at one point, and then someone stupidly dropped Jordy Nelson and I snatched him up. He then proceeded to go on a tear and I went on a 5 game winning streak. Picking up Cam Newton when Vick was showing early signs of struggling helped me out too. Newton and Percy Harvin both got 40 each yesterday, but it wasn't enough to beat a non playoff team who put up 151 to my 140. I was in second place for just one week and will now fall to 4th place. Matt Forte going down early really hurt my chances. I've had a lot of injuries to deal with this year - Miles Austin, Mike Vick, and Ahmad Bradshaw. Losing Matt Forte really spreads me thin at RB, probably will have to go with Bradshaw (who didn't do much in his first game back), and Mike Tolbert next week.
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

Ah, the other league.  ;D

Well, my team took a shit. Oh well.  ;D I feel like I drafted well, just didn't have enough steam to keep up with maintaining my team this year.

I'm rootin' for Ruckus in the playoffs - I feel like he's the Raiders of our league.  ;D

Ah, the other league.  ;D

You probably wouldve heard a lot more of that from me this year in that regard, except my team in that league was even worse, go figure (drafted DWill, Ingram, etc there too)...I think I ended up 5-8, havent bothered to look in the last couple days. I was 4-8 though, and started Tebow over Cam because I played my buddy from Bama who may actually despise Tebow more than Newton, and wanted to knock him out of contention with Tebow. I think I pulled it off, by also starting my last year's bust WW pickup CJ Spiller :D  ;D

I'll have to look at it later in the week, but I cant root for Rob...Im pretty sure he gets all his info off NFL Network fantasy show since he had it on repeat when I was in B'More preseason.

Like I said the other day, I think Im rooting for Hawkeye because he has had an underdog team the entire year, but things are clicking now. I really liked Walts team a few weeks ago, but he's had some injury probs so not sure how much of a favorite he is anymore (Arian has a great playoff sched though). I also hope Clarkwork's team shits the bed, esp Gronk, unless he will agree to cut me off a piece of the pie if he wins before the games start this week  ;D

Penny - not that you need my advice, but Id bench Hines and Andre Johnson for Gaffney and Crabtree. Johnson definitely isnt playing, and I dont expect Hines too. Even if he's active, I expect it to be the Wallace, Brown, and Sanders show. Wouldnt be a bad idea to pickup Beanie's backup Alfonso Smith in case he doesnt play, or a Donald Brown or Keiland Williams so you at least get pts at RB since Hillis almost definitely isnt going to play either.

...and I also say this because literally over half of Acorn's current starting lineup is on a bye so if you dont get zero's from those  2 WRs and 1-2 RBs you should be good.

Doh, i just saw this scotty! I stopped checking this thread. I only have an attention span for about half the season..

I remember two things from that night.  You were scared shitless of 1am ghetto Burger King and embarassed that my girlfriend was dropping superior fantasy knowledge ;D. That's the only time I watched it this year but it must have worked  ;D

Now for Rodgers to get concussed in the 1st quarter...Thanks to Clarkwork (who anti jinxed me), got to go on that little run from 3-6 to backdoor an invitation to a 1st round loss.  My team is still doo doo

Oh, I was by no means embarrassed by her, I was impressed actually. We should have her and Penny team up next year or something....and I wasnt scared of Burger King, I think I was so shitfaced I didnt know if I was hungry or not  ;D

No prob, at least you got to play him when he had people on a bye, unlike me week 12  :-\

And just to put it out there now, I say he gets the boot and we bring in a noob next year as there were numerous people interested last year...Whoever is the more active forum member should probably be the one to get in. 2 cents.

I agree that acorn should be out next year.

And I move to make Walt the new commish.  He was the original commish.  I love Corey but he's no longer active on the boards and he still hasn't paid up.  I'd like to make it so you get locked out if you don't pay next year and I don't think we can do that with a commish who hasn't paid.  I want him in the league but I think a new commish is in order

I agree with AMD as well...We should have some predetermined cutoff for payment, but our league isnt high enough stakes where Id say it should be before the draft. Maybe like week 4 or something?

Id also be for raising the pricetag but I dont think most agreed when I brought it up before this season.

I actually don't see me beating Ruckus in the first round.  I beat JonT last week barely with everything I had.  I don't see me putting up those same numbers this week.

I'm interested in higher stakes next year if everyone else is.

If anyone is interested in playing fantasy basketball this year, pm me.  Walt, his brother and I have been in a league together for a number of years but we don't have many managers beyond that.  No buy in, just bragging rights.
