Excitement/Freak Out Anticipation of Future Setlists

Saw a thread below about someone who is angry with the repeat setlists and thought I'd bring up a topic I discussed with my brother on the way to the Pittsburgh show. Our discussion was something like this.

I love the setlists now, even if they are a bit repeated. They are supporting Circuital and are obviously going to play a Circuital heavy set which I enjoy/love (especially VD>Title Track and HotBM > OBH).

However, at some point, the "Circuital Tour" will end and they will just be a band touring to tour. Then imagine the goodies we will see on the set lists then. The entire library will be completely opened up for them to play. No longer feeling obligated to play a slow song like "Wonderful" or "Movin Away" they might pull out Sept Blues, Knot Comes Loose (which they played in Pitt) or others...

In addition, imagine what they will open with, remember the Rollin Back Intro > Way he Sings last year (in another non-album tour I might add)... They could open up the books and get incredibly creative, like "Day is Coming" or anything they mother effing want at that point.

Bottom line is, it's gonna be awesome just for this one simple fact: They now have 10 more songs that they can mix in and get creative with.

So, if you're truly getting bored with the setlists (which I personally can't understand considering this year I've seen "The Dark," "Knot" "Evelyn" and "Honest Man"), just wait until next year, or maybe the year after, when they really open up their minds and fucking jam oldies and newbies.

What're some ideas you guys have?
and if all else fails, i'll come running back, wonderin where you went
with my heart.

I was talking to Tommy in Pittsburgh. We both agree that Run Thru needs to come back in it's entirety.

Totally agree. This is the way things are with bands after an album, and it's cool enough the one or two songs that are different because you usually get fantastic performances of some of the songs that are repeated every night. Now, I've only been to one show on this tour but I've listened to a bunch of recordings and looked at setlists.

I also agree that next tour will be really cool if they differentiate their setlist and song order more and bring back Run Thru completely.

Agree with you both also, only been to one show so far this tour and agree that the band is on a new album tour and have to play a majority of the new album with a few oldies(if i can call them that).  They haven't been doing many covers from other artists like i am used to seeing at Jacket shows but i expected that cause they are playing their new album as you said it a Circuital tour.  We will all get to another Jacket show down the road an thus see some/ hear some songs to which we are craving to hear live/ songs we haven't heard live yet that are on our wants list.
Love this band so much and will do what i can to hear them live anytime they come around or if i have to make a journey to where they are currently playing.

I love your optimism and good vibes!  The possibilities are endless with this band, which is why we all continue to support their tours. Can't wait to see what's in store for the next round of tour dates.  :)
