Eh, setlist was about what I expected.

Unfortunately, Vanderbilt did not allow me to tape this show :( their policy overrode the bands policy, so i hope somebody stealthed it.

The one curse of teaching high school.  Class starts at 7:20am!  :(

I'd pay money and travel a few hours for that show.  Curious about the crowd atmosphere.

It was fine from where I was. I had a good time. There did seem to be a sound problem. I don't know if it was a blown speaker or a short in a cord somewhere, but later in the show, you could hear static buzz. The acoustics were better than I thought they would be. I hate that Will couldn't tape. I would have really liked to have a copy of Dondante from last night.

MMJCOBRA

The acoustics were actually awesome. Better sound to me than Alpharetta. And dondante was incredible....I recorded the last 17:35 of it!!

I was in the front section GA floor on Jim's side and the crowd was just fine.  Lack of alcohol made it a pretty chilled out atmosphere.  I've seen Dondante many many times and that one was the highlight of my night.  Nice long jams and messing around with the arrangement.

And, I only caught the last half or so of Trey Songz but I was impressed.  I expected a karaoke performance and was rewarded with a tight band.  Definitely worth it to go to this one.

I was on Carl's side and it wasn't so bad except right where we were sitting.  A bunch of stupid college kids came to the aisle right next to us and this one guy was falling all over the place.  Had to grab the guys collar and told to chill the !$@# out cause he was ruining it for the rest of us.  Didn't let it bother me too bad but kind of ruined Dondante (which was a killer version BTW).  One of his friend tried to fold up the seats in front of us and we wouldnt let them.  Hate people that get out of control like that.  One thing to kick back a few but when your that wasted, your ruining not only your own experience but everyone elses as well.

Show was great though.  Trey Songz went on WAY too long IMO.  Wish MMJ would get away from this generic setlist.  They difinitely need to work on mixing things up.  They have too much great music to make it such a generic set of songs they play.  Don't understand for the life of me why they don't switch it up more.  Guess that's what happens when you get spoiled with having seen them 13 times.  Was great seeing Highly Suspicious and Anytime.  Overall it was a great experience.  Despite any of my complaining, it never gets old seeing MMJ put on a show.
And all that ever mattered will some day turn back to batter, like a joke.

Marginal show for sure, not the bands fault though...venue setup was TERRIBLE! There were cops all over the place as well...just gave it a creepy vibe....I agree on the setlists as usual, I know they've been off for a little bit but I was hoping they'd dig in a little being that close to home.  Nontheless, glad I could see they boys before year end! Dondante was sick!

Luna Moth

ive seen the band around 15 times or so since 03, 5 this year and that dondante was easily the craziest one ive heard, live or recorded, id love to hear one that was nuttier than that. the 'shitty' acoustics made for some weird reverb and it was good to see the band experiment with different sounds in between songs. carl side, still cant hear anything.

There weren't any cops where I was.  ;)

And Luna, I agree with you about Dondante. I hope somebody got the whole thing recorded somewhere.

e_wind

Jim did a solo in Golden. It was the first time Ive seen a solo in golden out of 18 or so times seeing golden live.
There was WAY to much security. They weren't bad but they took up like 100 people's worth of floor room. Bizarre set up. Never seen anything like that. Short show, but awesome. Haven't seen Highly Suspicious yet this tour out of  10 shows, so it was a nice surprise.
don't rock bottom, just listen just slow down...

JaytheRevelator

This was my 5th show and it was solid, loved the bands energy... The setlist was pretty standard, would have loved to heard a few slow ones like 'Wonderful'
Don't let your silly dreams fall in between, the crack of the bed and the wall...

rmpotsy

Pretty standard, but pretty standard jacket is better than exceptional anyone else.  a little disappointed they didnt play one deep cut, but i guess they were tailoring this to new fans.  golden was the only slow song, so it was a pretty rockin show.  i personally thought the sound was great until the speaker/short issue, i was very surprised by that.

the dondante was more or less the exact same as cinci on 8/17.  so if you want to hear it, theres a good copy of it out there.
out go the lights it begins

EasyRyder

Best Golden, Dondante, Anytime (Jim just skipped singing the last verse and jammed with Carl, Bo, and Pat) I've ever heard.

Even though Mahgeetah was standard it rocked HARD, and end of run thru kicked in seamlessly in about .01 seconds after smokin'. I understand previous negativity expressed regarding various aspects of this show, but damn- it exceeded my expectations given the circumstances.

And Patrick was a complete maniac all night. He changed up several of the song intros, and whatever he did at the end of OBH I don't think I've ever heard before- it was almost like his solo usually in steam engine.

The boys were in a very improvisational mood, and I personally enjoyed the boomy sound of the gym. Jim and Carl were all smiles all night it seemed as well. Can't wait to do it again  :)

P.S. may have permanent damage in right ear.

I am dealing with some damage from last night as well and its not cool. completely agree with the Golden Dondante Anytime statement, but my resume is lacking. After saying "theyve never done that before" about 4 or 5 times I just started to assume the entire rest of the tour is going to be like this.. Awesome. Hoping for some couch tours badly as this or boca could be my last one until next year.

erchint

agreed on the ears...sweet jesus they are still ringing!

halesdd

When will the ringing end?!?! Me and the wife still have what sounds like chipmunks screeching in our ears. Defly bringing earplugs from now on.
