I'm guessing no one is there . Unless there is a waiting place indoors. Just passed the place .

And Jim just walked passed me. Damn my freeze up lol

Sorry if someone posted this already, I just saw it on the Drive-by Truckers board and hadn't seen it---

Earth to Boston.
Report In.

I just spun the New Multitudes vinyl bought at the Birchmere show.  Wow, the vinyl sounds so rich, full and clean.  It's a very nice pressing.  Empty Bed Blues sounds unreal.

Boston was very good.   First set was awesome.   Encore dragged a bit for me, and the last song (which I was so looking for) was super indulgent and did not do it for me.   Maybe I was just tired (which I am)

full report tomorrow.   Yac, Zach, and I were on the rail directly in front of Jim.

Who on this board that saw them was not right in front of Jim? I would have been on the "rail" if not for Ru-day getting there first.

What a show last night in Boston!! These guys blew me away, and actually wore me out which I wasn't expecting. I thought it would be more subdued but it was very loud at times and there was a lot of hootin' and hollerin' from the crowd. Jim said something to the effect of wanting to bottle up our energy and keep it for himself. Sometimes there was a little more talking than I would've liked, but not bad overall. I think everyone was a little more drunk because the show was so late, it didn't end until after midnight. And I'm sure being so close affects my review, I was a few feet from Jim and now I know what everyone was saying about his hair, it was fucking glorious! He also looked as healthy and happy as I've ever seen him. Favorite performance for me was Angel's Blues, and TWTHS was awesome. I also really enjoyed the final song and the wall of sound, I'm sure it turned some people off but I thought it was great. Jim's bass on that song was his best all night. He was in full rock star mode and clearly the center of attention out of the group. But I was very impressed by all these guys, especially Anders Parker. And Will Johnson was a beast on the drums. I caught the end of Bobby Bare Jr.'s set and really liked what I heard. Also got to meet him after the show when he was loading stuff into his van and talked to him for a bit, he was really cool. I saw Van Halen and the Black Keys this month, and this New Multitudes show rivaled them. It was the perfect way to kick off St. Patrick's Day, now I gotta muster up the energy to keep this celebration going. Top o the mornin' everybody!

As you've already heard, we were treated to a great show at the Birchmere last night.  More rockin', loud and jammy (towards the end) than I was expecting.

Jim delivered a wonderful Wonderful and rocked out with the rest on TWTHS.  Ms GO4IT couldn't stand sitting any more upon hearing the latter tune (must have been all that conditioning in the pit at MMJ shows ;)) and jumped up to start dancing.  I was half expecting her to rush the stage while everyone else was seated but thankfully she spared me the embarrassment and danced toward the back of the venue.

It was great meeting Jane, Sassbox, MrWhippy and APR.  And thanks to MrWhippy for introducing me to some of his friends (Nick, Laura and Holly - I think I got the names right) as I had to rush out of the venue at 5:30 to rescue my wife and friend who had broken down on the way down from Columbia.  They saved us some prime seats and we enjoyed their company during the show.  Thanks again!!!

Enjoy the Philly show tonight!

It's up on Dime. Sounds good too!!

well for what was a somewhat last minute decision to cover this show, i certainly made the correct one. fantastic stuff. i really liked how the flow of the show (both in songs and rotation of featured performer) went, and the encore was great too. i can see how the last song (what was that, btw?) would be polarizing, as it became an endurance test of sorts as the minutes ticked by, but i was ok w/ that. good to see guys playing outside their safe zone.

ran into mahg33ta, johnYach and their friend Zach when i got there about 40 min before doors opened, and they were very gracious to allow me to get to edge of the stage for the show (there was a line at will call (looked like some people were buying tickets to *other* shows...who the fuck does that at 8PM on a friday?) and by the time i got my ticket and pass, a lot of people had streamed in and taken all the prime real estate at the stage. so big kudos to that crew, much appreciated!

checking out photos now...i'll hopefully have the review and photos up later today/tonight.

Talking Empty Bed Blues - New Multitudes wish i didn't stop before the last little section at the end.
great show . as you can see on was in front on the left side which was great but far from jim :(. the put so much epicness in the live versions of the new multitude tracks. Even tho this tour was short they seemed so cohesive as a band. also their songs from their bands were great. The closer was amazing to me . more videos to come. not my best work but it's something.

The show was fantastic all around.  Anyone know Will Johnson's solo tune?  It was the first song of the encore and I'd like to track it down.  I was there for the same reason we all were, but was really knocked out by the rest of the guys, especially Will.

Damn, he was right about where I was in LA. I need a press pass! I have been looking at Tim's photos for a while now, not only is he great, but he goes to great shows, and really gets to move around.  Those shots are crystal.
