So what are the odds of Wax Fang two years in a row? Because...well if there's one band I want more than anything else to see that isn't MMJ, it's them

There wasn't a Forecastle last year.  I'd say they were a lock other than the fact that their drummer recently moved away.  Hard to say

Ahh yes, 2010 would be 2 years ago. I'm obviously not a math major.

I'm really hoping though.

Thanks to everyone who helped out answering questions!

I read that in years past, there have been aftershows on riverboats?!?

Roll Callers getting first crack at tickets for a MMJ/PHJB show on a boat? That sounds about right. Count me in.

Are you guys going to buy your tickets when they go on sale or will you wait until Roll Call gives us more details about these potential upgrades?

I think we'll get the Roll Call info before the onsale, but if not, I was going to get my tix at the onsale.

I don't know for sure, but I'm thinking the Roll Call upgrade will be similar to the High Sierra one last year, where you can upgrade, but have to have a ticket already. Hopefully we'll find out soon. I'd definitely be up for a Saturday night upgrade! Don't know that I'd fork over the $ for a whole weekend VIP upgrade though.

edit for emailed roll call  info:

**IMPORTANT - We will be announcing some great VIP upgrades for ticket holders which will be made available to Roll Call members before anyone else. Keep an eye on your inbox as we will be sending this information to you once the packages are finalized. You will not be disappointed!

This might be a do-able trip for us. I always wanted to go see them in their hometown.

Wasn't their info in one of the emails about travel packages? Maybe hotel & ticket/VIP deals? Or am I dreaming that up?

I cant recommend it enough. Made the trip in 08 and its still talked about often and with reverence.  I absolutely love that city.
Say friend, you got any more of that good sasparilla?

GO4IT

This is going to be an epic show and weekend for sure.
I'm in with the wife, staying at the Galt from Fri to Mon.
Looking forward to meeting more of the forum faithful and one hell of a party!

Can't decide if I'm gong to do this or Jazz Fest (Or both.)   I like this dilemma.

You HAVE to be at Forecastle!!!

So far Suite at The Galt and still pondering VIP...last time I felt it was well worth it. Laying in a hammock with a clear shot of the Umphree McGee stage...ahhhhh.

Thank you! That is awesome. I'm doing it...I just got the Delta Gold Skymiles card and when you spend 500$ in the first 3 months you get 30,000 miles + 50$ credit..

Is the entire rail blocked by the VIP area or just a portion of it?

rmpotsy

^Up in the air.  Last forecastle it was the entire rail.  Last half way to forecastle I think it was split half and half.
out go the lights it begins

I'm waiting to see what Roll Call is up to.  I'm leaning towards 3 day VIP unless Roll call offers VIP to members for the jacket show only at a reduced rate.

Pardon the probably dumb question w/ an obvious answer, but do mikes = miles or do they equal "miles"?

I'm a fart away from buying a house that will need significant renovations and want to maximize my rewards. If that gets me free airfare to KY, then awesome. I'm pretty sure KY is less than 30000 miles from NYC

you're kidding me? So the VIP area is the rail and not some closer area up on the side? ...i don't like that..

NoVa_NoLa

Southwest is a little different...the miles = points.  I signed up for that card a few months ago for 60,000 (I think) points (2 free round trips) .  I've used a round trip and a one way so far and still have 15000 or so points left.  I think my one way from EWR bacck to New Orleans over the holidays cost 15000 points.

Anyhow, if you're going to apply do it now.  It takes forever for the points to show up in your account.

Just received estimate for $3000 work on the house, due to a mold issue in our attic, so Forecastle just got a whole lot farther away.  :(
