makes sense, thanks for the quick reply.

and while i'm at it, another, probably silly, Q:

what's with the GA ticket prices starting at $100 then rising bit by bit?

is it simply an incentive to get folks to buy early?  no "difference" in the tix, right?

Exactly, no difference it tickets

Surely VIP tickets won't sell out before the lineup is announced... right?

ALady

Doubtful.  VIP is always the last thing to sell out at any festival.

My current strategy is to grab the $100 3-day pass tomorrow and purhaps purchase any Roll Call upgrade that might be available later. I think $350 is a bit steep for nicer bathrooms and some air conditioning.  Is this strategy fatally flawed? This will be my first festival.
being the old fart that i am, i'm going VIP soley for the opportunity to step into some air-conditioned comfort when needed.  july in the ohio valley can be brutal.

which leads to this festival-newbie question:

from what i'm reading, seems vip ticket-holders are essentially "trapped" in the vip section, with no opportunity to mingle with the commoners.     most of my friends will probably be GA, it would be nice to hang with them as desired.    is co-mingling possible?

I'm another old fart and I concur.  Good question on co-mingling.  I would think you would access to the entire grounds.

no co-mingling of the asshats..i mean assets...
sorry, why do i remember that from law school all you lawyer nerds?

I wish we had some info about the MMJ VIP deal BEFORE the tickes go on sale tomorrow.  I don't want to have to buy VIP twice if I don't have to.

You're not alone! Roll Call just e-mailed me back and said they can't tell me anything.

Dammit!

darkglow

bunch of noobs.. it clearly states that the roll call will get future announcements of VIP upgrade packages but that you must first have a general admission pass to use with it..

so buy the pass tomorrow if you are lucky enough to get them at the 100 dollar price level. and then hope that the roll call upgrade price isn't too steep.

MMJCOBRA

So I'm assuming that the $100 tickets will be fairly easy to snag tomorrow with only MMJ confirmed?   Heheheh....."only"!!!

Because its the only sure-fire way to get disbarred and thrown in jail. You could probably bang your client on JFK's grave while snorting coke off each others nipples and get in less trouble  than if you mingle your assets

It's a good thing bars don't close till 4am.

Can anyone fill me in with their best guess on what the security situation will feel like at Forecastle? This will be the first summer since 05 that I will be missing Bonnaroo, so that is the ....security/party scene I am used to. It will obviously be different than the farm (urban, hotels, etc), but does anyone know how different?

It's pretty lax as long as you're not an idiot, but there are undercovers.

And it's in a city park, not on private property (as Bonnaroo is).  I would not be as casual about party favors as people can be at Bonnaroo.
