RHCP are playing an arena show here in Louisville in June. That would really really surprise me. I can totall see the other two, but PLEEAASSEE no Foo Fighters. I'm sorry but the foo is just plain boring regurgitated radio rock.
don't rock bottom, just listen just slow down...

I thought it was impossible a few weeks ago, but after hearing about this canceled Tom Petty show in Louisville last year, now I'm thinking maybe it's not so far-fetched. The Heartbreakers are on tour, they've got a relationship with AC Entertainment, not to mention that would add the major splash to the lineup that would take this festival to the next level. MMJ and Petty have toured together as well.

I'm obviously setting myself up for disappointment, but MMJ/Wilco/Petty as headliners? Good fucking lord that's a sweet top-three.

Forecastle 2012 Lineup Tease #7

Who is it?

someone said Justin Townes Earlem "Harlem River Blues."
.....Back at the Model Home

Wonderful_Man

Seems the most popular response is Justin Townes Earle which sounds pretty accurate to me. This lineup continues to impress me, bring on Wednesday.

i've only seen tom petty and his band perform on television.  yes, his songs are wonderful, but the live performance of said songs was like watching paint dry.  maybe it's better in person.

and i've never understood the allure of foo fighters, for opposite reasons.  on stage, they play like their pants are on fire, but most of the songs just don't hit home with me.

maybe if foo fighters played tom petty's songs.........

Hoping the New Teaser means The Flaming Lips.

The Lips have been covering  Dark Side of the Moon in conjunction with The Wizard of Oz.

This would be another awesome addition!
was some shakin' and some record playin'

Going to have to respectfully disagree.  I've seen Petty live a bunch of times and they put on a hell of a show.  Mike Campbell is one of the most underrated guitar players out there and it is hard not to have a good time when thousands of people are singing every word to every song.  I really hope this is true.

btw the Foo's covered Petty at Hangout last year.

Ha I was coming to post... Ive actually seen Foo cover Petty

Petty definitely seems like wishful thinking, but I'm not ruling anything out at this point.

Do you guys think MMJ will be #1 billed? I was under the assumption that they would be, and I couldn't see Petty billed after them. Then again, home-show advantage can mean crazy things for lineup hierarchy.  ;D

like i said, i've only seen them on TV, a fairly recent show at the university of florida.    i know he's no spring chicken, but it just didn't seem like much effort being put forth.   i grew up a huge who/pete townshend fan, amazed by the pure physicality of the live performance......another reason i took to MMJ so quickly.

i'll withhold further judgement until i've actually seen petty in person.  it would be a huge get for the festival, hope it happens.

The new clue is 100% Justin Townes Earle "Harlem River Blues." I know this because I ripped the audio to MP3 and downloaded Audacity to reverse it...

Ha!  Nice ;D  The only reason I had reservations is because it said band on the post and not artist.

from what i understand the headliners are supposed to be huge, like game changelingly huge.  i would not be surprised to see jacket as the 3rd billed headliner.
out go the lights it begins

you just made the wait til wednesday seem even longer.
some get stoned, some get strange, sooner or later it all gets real.

Maybe reading too much into this, but Wilco just followed Forecastle on Twitter. Fuck yeah.

Wilco playing this fest started out as a dream of mine, but these hints are slowly adding up.

This is what Ive heard too, but I could see it saying My Morning Jacket presents... Or My Morning Jacket hosts... So billing them first, but also implying that doesn't nessecarily mean they're the biggest. There will definitely be at least one artist that's bigger than the jacket

Faaaaaack, this anticipation is just killing me. This is going to be a long two days.

Think I'll take some Ambien and wake up Wednesday.

I saw that individual day tickets go on sale already this Friday.  Will they have the actual schedule out by then in addition to the lineup?
