C'mon,  No TGI Fridays love or Applebees  ;) .

Too funny.  My wife's neice did an internship in Hershey, PA when she was in college several years ago, and she invited us to come and stay with her for a weekend and we would go into NYC for a day.  This douche she was dating tagged along and as we were doing the typical touriisty things to do, we arrived in Times Square around lunch time.  Of all the places in NYC to eat, this douche wanted to eat at TGIFriday's in Time Square?!  I was ready to ditch the douche right there on the spot.  Lucky for him, we persuaded him to find some place a little more original that could only be found in NYC.   8)

;D I've been kinda wondering if my "MMJ" sticker is a good idea, being a teacher and all...  Anyone ever determine if, all silly stories aside, "My Morning Jacket" has always been a reference to weed?  Y'know, kinda like the "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" bit...

i sure hope not...i have one on my back windshield and i drive into a hospital deck to work all the time

He/she cannot be named due to the semi-publicly high profile nature of my work. However, this request serves a second purpose: it avoids trial being scheduled too close to these dates

Flight is booked!

New York (LGA) to Louisville (SDF)  07/13/12 10:00 am - 12:30 pm

Louisville (SDF) to New York (LGA)  07/16/12 7:05 am - 9:03 am

Cannot wait to experience the LGA clusterfuck extravaganza!  It was almost 300 bucks less per person to fly out of there, so I am rollin the dice on this one! Can't wait.

I land 10 minutes ahead of you, so maybe we can coordinate a trip to Galt.

Guys, you need to check out Bonobo!  Please don't discount this as "another dj set."  It will be highly enjoyable whether you want to dance or just lean back and chill with your beer, promise!  I also promise that, unlike at Bassnectar and Girl Talk, you won't have to combat raved out kids with glowsticks and rage on their face for elbow room.  There are subdivisions of the "electronica" umbrella genre and this guy, along with Flying Lotus, definitely falls into a more sophisticated group of producers aimed at a more thoughtful and laidback crowd.  I was going to imbed but i'm not sure if that's allowed here.  Here are some of his good tunes nonetheless.

*edit: I didn't intentionally imbed, just posted links and they came up automatically.  Hope that's okay.

cool. i like it. i've been trying to read up on the artists, and this and flying lotus seem to be the electronic music i enjoy the most. i just can't really get excited about seeing flying lotus. watching a guy dj just does nothing for me. i feel like i could put some visuals on my flat screen and blast his record on my stereo and get a very similar experience.

this guy bonobo on the other hand, i hear he often performs with a live band. if this music is actually played live, as opposed to being pre-recorded and mixed (or whatever the electronic artists do) i can really see myself digging his set. good music. actually sounds more like jazz than techno if that's what he's categorized as.

Luna Moth

It most likely wont be a live band but him up there making the stuff(not as much prerecorded as most). I am not a bigfan of electronic music but think it is fun and interesting. Caught Bonobo twice and while its nothing to get worked up over it will be a chiller jazzier vibe w/more dancier stuff than the links posted.

Beats Antique (has been opening up for bassnectar and touring on their own) is by far the most interesting 'do not miss' of the newer 'ravier' stuff. All live instruments(well played and diverse), a belly dancer, and ive even seen them come out to cirque du soleit trapeeze artists before at a late night show(edit: nm that wasnt them). If you can be close enough to see them make their music do not turn it down.
