Magheetah, I couldn't agree more with your opinion of Urban Meyer or Cryer or Liar or whatever adjective rhymes with Meyer...

My thought on his sudden bad turn in health was that it coincedentally happened at the same time his boy Timmy Tebow was graduating.  You can't tell me that Urb didn't see the mess that Will Muschamp inherited when he took over for Urb and instead of working through it, he bails on UF (players and fans) citing health concerns???  And, conveniently is healed within a year of bailing on Florida to take over OSU who just happened to have a QB who fit perfectly to run Urb's offense?  And then because he worked at ESPN, they treat him like royalty?!

All I have to say is that if he thought he felt pressure to win at UF, good luck trying to please delusional buckeye fans especially considering his hot start to his OSU coaching tenure.  Wouldn't surprise me in the least to see Urb get burnt out within 2-3 years if they don't live up to the delusional expectations of most buckeye fans.

Oh, and I too am pulling for Manti.  I honestly don't see another deserving candidate out there.  Manziel is the talk of the town, but what about how he stunk up the two games aTm lost?  I don't think the Heisman should be won because of your performance in one game which is what everyone seems to be doing.

Also, I hate ND as much as anyone, but it's nice that you point out all of their close calls vs. the not-so-good teams but fail to point out their quality wins.

I ain't drinking the Kool aid, sorry. Beating .500 teams at home by 3 and in OT is not the stuff of national powerhouses; at least not in the SEC.

Well Alabama DID lose to a lowly sisters of the poor Big 12 team (IN Tuscaloosa even!) so, you know, anything can happen.
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

Meh the Heisman was a big letdown. Good thing UFC had some awesome fights on Fox.

Anybody interested in partaking in this? Perhaps join a group consisting of forum members. See who has the most correct picks?

I can't wait to find out how the Big 10 AND the Pac 12 will manage to BOTH lose the Rose Bowl.

Did not see Clemson beating LSU or GT beating USC even without Barkley.

That was insane...I'm surprised he wasn't in the heisman talk...I bet he will be next year, he is a freak of nature

and it was after that ridiculous blown call where the ref granted a first down when the ball was an inch from the marker. Never seen that

I think he did finish in the top 10 overall which is impressive for a non-senior defensive player.  Plus if he could leave this year I think he would have a great shot at being number 1.

The actual hit Clowney made was definitely insane.  But, as for the play, he was unblocked so he didn't really do anything special other than get a late Christmas present in the form of an unsuspecting Vincent Smith.   How Michigan could miss a blocking assignment on a guy like Clowney is beyond me...

That said, outside of that one play, Clowney was pretty much made a non factor by Taylor Lewan of Michigan who held him to just 4 tackles (including that one) and no sacks.

You're right, he was untouched at the line...how about that Sugar Bowl?!  Go cards, as a UGA fan I'm always happy to see UF get waxed!

you got to love Charlie Strong's shout out to ESPN's David Pollack at the 19 second mark

completely agree.  Clowney is the best player in college football, but any legit D-1 lineman would've made that hit as unblocked as he was.

I love Chip Kelly.  I love Oregon football.  They didn't play their best and yet they still dominated KSU.  Credit for Stanford to outphysical the Ducks and preventing them from getting to the title game.  I still think Bama and the Ducks are the two best teams in the country and wish they were playing in the title game.

The Browns are very high on the possibility of hiring Chip Kelly as their next head coach.  Not sure how I feel about his offense translating to the NFL, but it should be fun to watch at the very least.

I don't see how CK will be as successful in the NFL as its such a gimiky offense that would likely kill the offensive linemen due to the pace.  With that said the only way I see him leaving is if the rumors that the NCAA hammer is about to come down are true, just like with Carroll at USC.

I don't think it is gimmicky at all.  It's unique but its basic tenets are no different than most NFL offenses.  The zone read options and bubble screens are widely used in some variation by the Panthers, Redskins and Seahawks to great effect.  The Patriots had another prolific year and ran so many damn plays after Bellichick consulted with Kelly and added some of his wrinkles into the Patriots' attack, mainly his fast, faster and fastest concepts.

Think about how hesitant the NFL has been to adopting cutting edge offensive styles.  Some of it has to do with how valuable quarterbacks are and some has to do with the fear of failure in a prestigious coaching position.  In the NCAA, there are well over a 100 teams alone and it's such fertile breeding ground for new ideas where there isn't as much risk for a coach to try something new in order to overcome talent gaps.

It was only a matter of time before the NFL began adopting spread packages and now with running qbs, even moreso.  The one thing Kelly needs is a passing QB with legs, i.e. Wilson.  I look forward to his ascension to the pros.

Here's a great Grantland article that came out right before Stanford throttled them this year.

Well said Ruckus.  When you see gurus like Bellichick going out to pick the brains of Kelly and utilizing some of the principles of his offensive philosophy with a non-mobile qb like Brady, I think it is something that could definitely work in the NFL.
